New Inn Horning As Was

I was intrigued by this picture which hangs on the wall at The White Horse in Neatishead. I didn't realise that the river once flowed so close to the building. Can anybody date this?

It's a painting, so probably a degree of "artistic licence" at play, to make an interesting composition. Looks to be a depiction of 70's era?

70s probably about right. I sat in the garden in July 1964 having breakfast and the garden was definitely a little longer than that. I don't remember the post and chain fence either.

Cars look early 70's for sure

I would say the cars could also be 1960s if that's a Rover P5 in front of the pub and a Ford Zephyr/Zodiac to the left.

The houses on the other side of the road on the left hand side are almost correct - you can just see one of the houses built on the Percival site development in 1970 (to the left of the steps up to the field.

As webntweb says the garden is much longer and there used to be a large willow tree in the 1970s - not sure when it came down.  On the right side you should be able to see Southgates Boatyard yards ......

So quite a degree of artistic license has been employed
