Facebook Outage

Facebook have an outage across all platforms, for those that use it it will give a failed login message. Don't waste your time trying to login or reset passwords, it isn't working.

I would try later, or much later depending on how broken it is.

yes, apparently I tried resetting my password too quickly as it wasnt sending SMS messages. from what I can see its down worldwide.

It didn't help that O2 were in the process of transferring my phone number so I didn't get any passcode numbers FB were sending 😁

It seems to be coming back online now, might be worth waiting an hour for it to settle.

Can you imagine being the engineer who deployed whatever broke it and now having to sit there trying to roll things back knowing half the world is impacted

my phone was ok and i still received no passcodes

just tried again and its now telling me I entered an old password that was changed a year ago, except thats the password stored on all my devices as current

I suspect a lot of their code is Python, so it'll probably be a line of code indented with a tab rather than spaces, or something equally ridiculous.

Thanks for putting this up. I was thinking I’d pressed something wrong on my phone. Was just about to sit down with a cup of tea and sort it out. I’ll wait awhile and see what happens.

That's strange, it hasn't affected me at all ?

WhatsApp wasn't affected. All other platforms were.

Mine's now working without needing to relog in!

mine has eventually let me log in (once i stopped trying to use the password I had stored) (it was down to the fact they let you log in by clicking on your picture my password hadnt updated in my password manager)

If only there was some sort of social network dedicated to the Broads, which didn't sell your data or use it to profile you for advertising and monetisation purposes and which wasn't run by some greedy global megacorp...
