Polly
This was fascinating, I just watched it on 4 Catch Up. They were engaged in experimental archaeology and reconstructing a 1/2 sized replica of a Bronze Age boat. I was shouting at the screen when they launched it and were surprised that it let in water. Nobody mentioned letting it take up, or waved a bronze saucepan of sawdust under it....amateurs !
Ebbtide
Polly I watched it, and reacted as you did when they put it in the water. I felt they should have let it sink for a week! They made a lot of work for themselves! Maurice
JennyMorgan
Surely West System resin and scrim would have been the answer.
Polly
What with bronze filler for authenticity, JM?
Ebbtide
A few copper nails/roves for authenticity perhaps. Now that would be progress. Maurice
MauriceMynah
Bronze age boat eh? Needs a bronze diesel engine then!
Ebbtide
Perhaps they did a search on Ebay, and were unable to find one. Bit scarce on the ground they tell me! Maurice
