I expect a lot of people have tried Googling it like me, and found the coloured version of Pater's pic, but still no specific detail of exactly where it is on the Broad.

 

It's even on this German "Lexikus" website !

Maybe it was where Cator's mooring dykes are now....

I am guessing here but the cut that is on the right of the main staithe, where there are private moorings. I do know that the biggish thatched house that stands there was something to do with the Mills family, of Mills and Reeve the Norwich solicitors. I knew the late Peter Mills whose family owned at one time the bits of land around the broad the the Cators didn't own. He was the son of the Mills that would have owned in the period of the photo.

The last two pictures from JM, I think were taken on the same day, despite one 'being coloured in' - just that yacht in the background has started to set sail. Same half decker in foreground.........and the reed lighter has just got a bit further.
