ChrisB
The figures quoted by the EDP seem a little strange. The £12m to buy out the third partner on a £7m turnover business. But then they are not known for accuracy. Holiday homes or full residential we shall have to wait and see.
ChrisB
But it will give the cliff top a very welcome facelift and being self catering will hopefully secure the independent retailers future in Mundesley Village.
slowhand
Having looked at North Norfolk council website there appears to be no planning applications submitted or approved for new development on this site. They can of course refurbish the existing chalets without the need for planning permission, but they couldn't sell off the units for permanent residential use if they have only got permission for holiday use. . Lots of talk on forums about what MAY or MAY NOT happen to all sorts of buildings /sites , but it should be remembered that all new development needs planning permission and that this must be given on the basis of the local council or national govt planning policies...contrary to general belief developers cant simply do what they want! Any one can check on any council website exactly what has been submitted and what the decision was for anything anywhere. Beats guessing!

I thought the plan was to refurb and sell off to individuals as holiday homes (does any of that need planning?). That of course means that not all (if any) will be available for letting and the number of days occupied per year could reduce as a result This would be to the detriment of local traders. It will be interesting to see where it all really goes, especially given the new owner wants to build some additional new holiday lodges. Think of the residential park home industry - maybe next step is to apply for a residential rather than holiday license and then the units can be sold as fully residential. Oddfellow
The signage at the park entrance is advertising holiday homes for sale from £49k (or there abouts if my memory of last week serves me well) (doubtful)
10B
Years ago we stayed at Pontins, Hemsby. On one side of the road was self catering and on the other full board. Are they still there? Is this the site mentioned in this thread?
C.Ricko
We own 'Seacroft' which was the full board option, the self catering is empty and festering across the road.
