AdnamsGirl
I have a couple more tucked away! This one might be a little easier, though apologies as it's not a great photo! .... which pub ... and which year again?
donnygeoff
is it 1977, ferry horning,
AdnamsGirl
Well that took all of 23 minutes! Well done DG, it is indeed the Ferry Inn at Horning and the year was 1977 .... I thought the Silver Jubilee flags might give it away!! The news story was that the Ferry Inn were introducing a traditional British food menu in celebration of the Queens silver jubilee. I'll try and find another one at some point!
donnygeoff
It was the flags for the year, but I am quite chuffed I got it first time

Guest
Blimey, so that's what the 118 man was doing in 1977. His hair was a bit shorter then though.

AdnamsGirl
Hi Not the Reedcutters and not 1972 Jonny .... and not Dilham Cross Keys Sue. The news article mentions that the pub in question had been empty for three years prior to the couple in the photo taking it on ....
AdnamsGirl
A clue ... on it's reopening the pub changed it's name ...

AdnamsGirl
Well Mr Nog .... you are quite correct ... it is the Hermatige, or Reba's Riverside Inn as it was renamed! The last time I looked, it wasn't actually by the riversdie though!! Well done! Any guesses on the year? Carol
NorfolkNog
Hi Carol Ah the clue about the name was a big help. I’d been scratching my head for a while over that one. As usual I was sure that I had been in !! It was quite a good real ale outlet if memory serves. It was a Whitbread pub I believe at one time, so probably would have been Lacons originally. The year, I’m guessing could be a bit later than you might think, I’ll have a stab at 1994. I do remember walking to the pub, it was from Acle Bridge as I don’t think the Bridge sold any beer at the time. Had quite a ‘chintzy’ interior as I remember. Happy daze !! AdnamsGirl
Hi Howard As you know I have to be a little approximate on the dates as the articles come from folders which span 2 or 3 years. On this one I have checked out the date of reopening with another source and it does concur with the date I suspected it to be! If it's wrong ... don't blame me!! It is not 1994 I'm afraid. NorfolkNog
Ah no problem Carol, I can remember going in and have a vauge memory of walking through a field at some point as well but am stuggling a bit with the date!! I'll have another think, better be quick though before someone pips me to the post!!!
