SwanR
Have to admit that coming up to Christmas I do like watching the Santa Cruise on the webcam as it comes and goes from outside Norfolk Broads Direct. Could have been tempted to book a couple of tickets but every cruise is marked as sold out. I'm sure it's very commercialised and I'm not even keen on mince pies, but just before Christmas I would love to be able to cruise along the river at dusk as that's not something we can ever do on a hire boat - not that it would be the same on a crowded pleasure trip boat compared to the solitude of our holidays. So was anyone else watching? Or has anyone ever been on one of these trips? I just happened to catch the 1pm and 3pm departures today ... what else is a girl supposed to do when hubby is out at the football?!

Saily
We've done it a couple of times with the (non-local) grandkids. Must say the folks do a nice trip for 5-7 year-olds, especially when Santa drops onto the roof whilst underway (I don't know how he gets permission from Norwich Airport to fly so low so close to the airport). The crew lay on gentle entertainment and our little ones enjoyed it very much. Grandpa got the chance to go on top and I enjoyed the fresh air and break, but if it wasn't for the little ones I wouldn't bother (but we are admittedly spoiled, living here and having our own boat)
TrevorAndDeirdre
We were on the 3pm on Sunday with our 3 year old granddaughter she loved it and yes we wnet on top on the way back. Good number on board but not over crowded. Have done this most years with the older one and now with this one till they go to school then it will be back to watching the cruise on the web cam.
TheQ
If it's the disco variety then, Generally I've found the Santa cruises slighty, but only slightly less deafening than the summer cruises when standing on the bank nearby. The particular boat shown has its speakers pointing out to the shore !!!
Hylander
Such a shame that we dont get the web cam on there to actual go up the river. I used to love watching this.
