  3. Hi All Bit of a salty question so I put it here - but also relevant to the broads. We have been looking at wet weather gear. Currently we have just el cheapo green plastic over jack and trousers. They keep you dry but make you sweat like mad and we look like green beans. We had a look around at the boat show and there was a bewlildering choice of Coastal, Inshore, Offshore, Explorer etc etc, and as usual the sales staff could not really tell us what we needed. I think we do need to get jacket and trousers for mooring, flybridge helming and general fannying about, but we won't be out in the rain all the time like a saily would be. What do you recommedend? Thanks Wayne
  4. The shinyest boat in our marina is done with a regular wash and el cheapo furniture polish - and she always looks great.
  5. Hiya Just had a little trip from WRC to Reedham this weekend - the sun shone,it was not at all windy and the tides were very gentle Got an electric blanket to go with me pipe and slippers - best bit of chandlery we've bought in ages regards to all Wayne

  7. I really must get those hull scrapes touched in - or photoshop
  8. You could not do more than 16 knts Mark?
  9. Ian I think the word you are looking for is sophisticated Tracy And at least I WAS on the flybridge this time
  10. Thanks for the reply - I have been quoted 157.00 each which includes an adaptor for the cable assy - it's mainly the lever that connects the rod to the butterfly valve spindle I am having problem with. I may make up a locking plate for the time being to hold the valve fully open - at the moment apart from a little friction on the seals there is nothing holding it in a fixed postion so it is free to do what it likes Apparently the valve was an attempt to reduce the smoke on these engines at low revs. I guess i could always put up with the smoke, or go faster rgds Wayne
  11. Hiya Has anyone got TAMD41A's fitted that thay would not mind me having a look at. The "stop solenoids" that control a butterfly in the exhaust elbow have been removed from my engines (as I understand is often the case) and I wish to re-instate them. Problem is some are the parts are no longer in production - I can make them if I can get some dimensions. Thanks in advance Wayne
  12. I noticed today at the show the new sealines have black angular windows - very much like the birchwood TS - maybe just coincidence
  13. hiya A really difficult question, that really takes some thinking about when changing boats. From what we have seen unless you have a very deep pocket indeed no one make or model has everything that you are looking for. So it's a question of priorities and how you (and your crew) will use it. It would be interesting to make up some sort of tick sheet with the top 20 things that people think important in a boat then score the makes / models on this - then again perhaps not - maybe boats and boating is much more individual than that Some boats go fast, some have a fly bridge and some are trimmed nicely down below Anyway - at the boat show today - rgds Wayne
  14. Hi Baz Shall we plan our run out for "less than smooth" conditions then - The "old" people can then be rocked off to sleep rgds Wayne
