  1. For 24v LEDs, I use Searolf. The products are excellent, and the back-up service without fault. Honourably changed a navigation light bulb two years out of warrantee, without being asked to. I put warm white 24v LED strips in all the galley cupboard, from https://www.brightlightz.co.uk I found them very helpful and able to answer queries. Tip - order once and then use the 10% discount code which comes in the bag!
  2. And Beardshaw is a member of the rugby club too
  3. Or these guys in Hoveton http://www.beardshaw.co.uk
  4. Unproven figures from the Broom Owners Club forum for a Crown. Obviously props, tidal flow, trim tabs, clean bottom etc will make a huge difference. (per engine) 1GPH @1200rpm, 2GPH @ 1500rpm 3GPH @ 1800rpm 4.3GPH @ 2000rpm 5.8GPH @ 2200rpm and 7GPH @ 2500RPM
  5. Nice boat, good choice I have never measured the economy - if I did, it might put me off going out!! I just make sure there's plenty in the tanks before going. They're great hulls, ready good-natured.
  6. We have an Ocean 37 which does us very nicely. Strong, well layed out, good sea-keeping abilities and easy to handle. Did you go for the Crown in the end?
  7. The owners club is worth belonging to. Plenty of discounts and some great tech knowledge on the forum.
  8. There's always things to fix/repair/improve/adapt on any boat, so no worries there. The fuel pump on both of my engines have leaked. One was done a few years ago, the other now needs doing to. It drips at the base and then fuel flows/creeps to settle at the bottom of the V near the gearbox end. The other things that seem to go are the turbo gaskets. Again, one done 4 years ago and one now needs doing. I think they're lovely engines. They chug away all day and all night without complaint. You can recognise them a mile away when throttling up due to the cloud of smoke which calms down quickly. Kind of like a squid disappearing behind a cloud of ink!
  9. Yes, agreed it was much more 'jumbly' than the last time I went a few years ago. Fewer trade stand and more rummaging - much better.
  10. Not sure mine would appreciate being revved up and down so much just after starting! However, reassuring to see one of those had a leak in the same place as one of mine
  11. They sound at their best at tickover in Mutford lock - reverberating off the walls - lovely! Nice move getting rebuilt ones.
  12. Hi Cook - welcome. I have a high-speed Mac, a high-speed connection and reasonable local knowledge. I lose every time
  13. When doing track day, or supercar driving etc, there is a group induction. Could work as a base on which to build for each helm.

    Eloquently put.
  15. Thanks for the nudge - forgotten this was on. Sweden does indeed look super. Quite fancy a trip afloat.
  16. I would love to have been a fly on the wall for the 'gentle reminder'
  17. Only if you're a noisy neighbour!!
  18. Didn't see that one in the drop-down menu!!! Totally with you though.
  19. Bob - that sounds like great service. Must have been a hell of a whack. I came off lightly in comparison!
