Last weekend at Ranworth Staithe a dad & lad had real difficulties with mooring lines. The dad said they were shown once really quickly how to tie up, but only once.

Good grief!

Details - yes
Apologies - yes, from Ricko's over the phone. Not Ricko's fault, but nice to get an apology from someone, if not the helmsman
Accepted - yes
I'm not publicising the boat as they are still on their holiday, and I don't wish to redden faces.
Apparently someone from Moonfleet is going to phone on Tuesday. Be interesting to see how they propose to resolve it. I fully intend to speak to my insurance on Tuesday too.

Moored up with lots of room, 6 of us having lunch onboard, wallop. The boat shunts forwards & stuff goes flying.
One of Richardson's finest crashed straight into the back of us squashing the boarding ladder and I don't know what inside.
First weekend of the season - what more to follow..???

Are these the dark boxes with big windows as it was 4-5 years ago? If so, I rather like them, the angles, the colours and the windows.

What's happened to Hunsett Mill?

We saw you near Wroxham Broad on Sunday, so 'hello'! Nice clean boat.

Brilliant!
Sealegs have been around for a while, with a somewhat iffy reputation apparently:
-
Wallpaper paste is good to stop it running off vertical surfaces, but be careful it doesn't dry - nightmare to get off. Ask me how I know! I now mix it with Fairy Liquid which works brilliantly to hold it in place while it does its work.

I wish I could justify the cost:

John is a very good trainer, and full of knowledge. Good guy.

If you're coming down the Bure, it'll be much faster to nip out of Yarmouth and pass Lowestoft rather than Breydon, Yare, New Cut, Oulton, Lake Lothing and out. Yarmouth to Lowestoft under ten minutes when it's smooth.
Yarmouth's less 'leisure-friendly', but they cooperate if you book in advance. They were doing some work on the Haven Bridge, but I think it's done now. Have a shufty at the website or give them a buzz as below:
Wednesday: No Lifts
NOTE :- bridges booked for a single vessel may be cancelled in the event that the vessel cannot attend. Please ensure that if you wish to join an existing event or wish to make a different booking, different to the times stated, that the Operations office is informed +44 (0)1493 335522.
If you know of anyone else who would benefit from this information, please reply with their email address.

We saw them when we stayed at the Ice Hotel. Mesmerising.

Bike Safe courses are excellent. You get to ride with the guys who can catch your knee-scraping Jap power-rangers by riding their big upright tourers faster than anyone.
-
I don't see why they don't use the waterskiing zone on Breydon. It's perfect for it, although launching from a trailer anywhere near it is difficult.
-
Fair point. When I passed my bike test, it was drummed into me: lifesaver, lifesaver, lifesaver. That quick glance to the side/over the shoulder BEFORE turning or weaving or pulling out/away. It seems to me that very few riders seem to do this in traffic now and I cringe when I see them just pull out without so much as a glance.

I wouldn't be concerned about driving into Norwich. It's one of the only places in Norfolk where you are unlikely to whizz around a corner and come nose to nose with a Massey Ferguson or John Deere.
There's oodles of parking signposted. For example, the car park (cash and flash) at the Adam and Eve, cut through the Cathedral grounds into The Close and you pop out at Tombland.

The afternoon high tea at the Maid's Head is lovely.
-
There are quite a few decent eateries around Tombland. The Spice Lounge near the Maid's Head does a cracking curry.
The Waffle House is popular with many, although we have not tried it. Otherwise, Jamie Olivers is nice for lunch.
Bit further afield: The Swan at Ingham is one of our favourites - really very, very good.

The wife's Audi keeps the cruise control on when you change up/down. Great feature and new since the previous model. It will also apply the brakes if needed.
My car is automatic and the cruise control is a far smoother experience, but will not apply the brakes as opposed to my previous car which did on an auto box.
Plenty of permutations!

Good to know I have not hit something with my sausage fingers...

Bob - that sounds like great service. Must have been a hell of a whack. I came off lightly in comparison!
