  1. I so agree about the bath tubs as they are affectionately known. They can get almost anywhere on the Broads and there are some really nice ones available. Okay, so not as posh as some but I love them and hired plenty. We hired Dancing Light from HW when she was fairly new and what a beautiful boat she was too x

While waiting for the pilot to take you through Wroxham Bridge so that you can enjoy Coltishall.

    Kindest Regards Marge and Parge

You see this is why I would rather hire a boat that will access most of the Broads system. How can you miss out on that beautiful cruise up to Coltishall Lock, it's my idea of heaven, it really is

I suppose I could slum it for a long weekend on Enya :default_biggrin: x

  3. What a wonderful but sad thread this is

I know it's not much but I always donate and wear a poppy as do my boys. It's important they know the true story and the sacrifices made by so many. The younger generation have every single one of those who fought and sacrificed everything for our freedom to thank for theirs. It must never be forgotten

    Thank you x

  4. Yep! All of the above and then some. The Sutton Staithe Hotel one of my faves as is The Wayford Bridge Inn. The New Inn and Ferry Inn at Horning are excellent for relaxing in their riverside gardens watching the boats come and go over a meal and a drink or two

I agree with you about not wanting to cook and clear up on your holiday but sometimes it's nice to cosy up on board for the evening and prepare a meal, my kids don't like it but that's another story :default_biggrin:

A very warm welcome aboard the forum :default_icon_wave: x

I'll refrain from answering that. Not only because this is a family forum that should be respected and treated as such....I don't want to incriminate myself :default_biggrin: x

  6. Thank you Ian, love it.

Now all the non believers, the bah humbuggers and scrooges are just going to have to accept that Christmas is on it's way and there's nothing they can do about it :default_norty:

Keep calm, get prepared and it will soon be Easter :default_xmas6: x

Oh my goodness! Santa baby, put these under the tree for me :default_biggrin:

We decided not to go to the display, it has not stopped raining and very windy, it would just be so uncomfortable so I've done a deal with the boys, x box and pizza for them and a bottle of Prosecco for me :default_biggrin: :default_winko: x

  9. You've been a tad quiet on here Ian, I was worried and going to PM you this weekend but it seems you've been busy doing your Charity work once again, you're a star :default_icon_kiss:

We were going to a big parade and display tonight but I think it may be cancelled, the wind and rain are relentless at the moment. The field it's being held in is in a slight dip it must be like a swamp, I don't think my pink wellies will hold up :default_biggrin:

Stay warm and safe everyone x

  10. I used to do extra chores and save up my pocket money to spend at Lathams. I would buy the most useless things but I got them from Lathams at Potter, that's what mattered :default_biggrin: My boys do the same but they prefer Roys Toys

We have caused a major thread drift, sorry John x

  11. I didn't know whether to laugh or be sad either. When I saw the title I thought how nice, a lovely Fairy Tale to tell my little charges today but sadly not and so near the truth from what I am learning on here

We must keep up the good fight, maybe we need our very own Knight in shining armour  to rid the Dark Knight for trying to destroy our Watertopia :default_biggrin: x

  12. I or my children have never felt the need to keep up with anyone. Boating holidays have always been the children's choice when discussing our holidays. If families want to go abroad that's fine, if they want a boating holiday that's fine too in my book.

What I do find heart wrenching is the amount of children that can do neither because their parents are struggling. They are the ones I truly feel for and consider myself very lucky to be able to make that choice x
