Why are the council not claiming from the insurance of those who have damaged the 'roadside furniture' - I had Suffolk do that to me back in the 80's when I had an accident
-
Yep - had an incorrect item of clothing delivered. I returned it in a jiffy bag for exchange, and they charged me twice what I paid in postage to send me the replacement back in the same, reused bag !

Hello - where are you keeping her ?
-
Where you gone ? Just popped down to say hi and the place is half empty

Mine has scrapes in the enamel - remember to tape sail toggles before washing your sails in the bath, unless you really want to upset your other half.

Now what have they done ? Put some little dashed lane guide lines down - OK, good, but made the exits one lane instead of two into one ( Wroxham / Norwich bound ) bad idea.

My concern if fisherman were asked to pay a 'toll' is they may well then think they had as much entitlement to be on the mooring as a boat wishing to moor.

Try staying in the middle lane with an artic on the inside, not recommended if you like the car the shape it was.
I have - hence the line about dimensional inability to stay in lane

The biggest problem with the roundabouts is the inability, whether mentally or dimensionally, of drivers to stay in lane whilst going round and exiting them
Secondary issues I'd say are approach speeds and failure to give way to vehicles already on the roundabout and indicating correctly ( me ! - not been hit yet but I'd say it's only a matter of time, as I use the road several times a day )

Now you mention it... chap with the greyhound ? Not seen him either this year. Very polite, quietly spoken. Ex RAF like me !

Interestingly, since they did the work on the airport roundabout I've yet to see a car off there - and it was almost daily.
Article in the EDP on one driver who got it wrong on another NDR roundabout recently
some sympathy, but I was always taught to only drive as fast as you can see to stop - be that rain, fog or darkness....

As I drove over Acle bridge with my daughter last week I commented that we'd already have a few fall in, and if we had a hot school holiday period it'd only be a matter of time before the first fatality. Seems some people want to go out of their way to make it a reality

Interesting - they are putting cones out this morning on the Petans
car-parkroundabout ( behind the airport ) taking it down to one inside lane each way. Roundabout improvement work ? -
Was grit-blasting yesterday and the car looked like it had been on the Paris-Dakar. Thought I'd stop at a jetwash on the way into work today, to find them both closed - out of water / restricted I wonder ? ( the one on the Coltishall road as you leave Norwich )

I too drive it several times a day. One thing I have noticed is the roundabouts with the greatest number of 'runovers' ( as above ) have a potentially straight approach path to the impact. The roundabout at Rackheath / Sole and Heel has distinct curves on the approach, and no sign of anyone having gone straight on.
As to the inability of people to stay in lane - if they do, and indicate it works - just, but I must have to take avoiding action at least a couple of times a week to prevent an accident

I rarely go to Norwich proper these days as I'm so fed up with what they have done with the parking / traffic management

Anyone know the history of the restaurant boat ?
-
Hmmm - maybe I need a sign saying beer. It could serve as both an instruction and a reminder to pull the one In that's normally submerged off the back on a bit of string. Wouldn't be the first time I've set off and thought 'what's that bobbing along six feet astern ?

Garmin have at last got an update out with the NDR on it !
-
Another one off on the 'Petans' roundabout behind the airport again as I came in this morning...
-
Using the NDR at least twice daily, one thing becoming obvious is that a large number of people using it seem to think they automatically have right of way - they are entering roundabouts though and usual rules apply. Frankly fed up with people not stopping as I go to take 3rd exists and have them cut me up. The recent accident on the EDP - IMHO a car going straight over T bones a car already on the roundabout and indicating correctly.

There are new Road works on the Wroxham Road, I was dodging traffic at the time of going round the NDR roundabout so I didn't read the full sign, But I believe the exit for Wroxham off the old outer ring road is closed with divertions via Coltishall road.
And a heads up for future real chaos, As you leave wroxham the ramp up to the railway bridge as it curves onto the bridge is collapsing slowly, a definate dip has formed and is getting bigger daily, the road surface is cacking up. With access to do the work limited. I suspect that they'll have to close the bridge entirely...
The roadworks are on the roundabout outside the brickmakers pub, overnight from 19:00 all this week. You can go round the ring road on traffic lights, but not turn up Wroxham road or down towards the City.
