  1. Just as an added thought, if anyones dog poo looks like Goose S**t, take it to the vets its not well
  2. Oh how original, lets meet up I can see that going very well cant you? Childish to say the least but to be perfectly honest ive got bigger fish to fry this friday but thanks for the offer it was most hospitable
  3. At a marina we were once moored there was a dog owner who often let the dog wander about on its own and then they go looking for its business sometime afterward, lovely dog and nice people but its not very good is it. Walking around the grassed areas there without permanently looking down wasnt really an option either.
  4. Seems to be an unfortunate trait of the poster mentioned as I have recently realised on another broads related forum. If things dont fit his ideal then its either wrong, not true or just invalid as an argument, but we live and learn
  5. And i thought it was a blatent atempt at saving money on hosepipes!! No really...i did!!!
  6. All to do with poor owner behaviour im afraid. I have to say ive never had a dog pee on my mooring lines but that might have more to do with my german shepherd and jack russell keeping a good look out rather than good fortune! We have just come back from a popular holiday park in the Netherlands where they have specific fenced off areas designated as dog toilets, doesnt mean anybody picks up after the mutts in those either, my dogs were disgusted to say the least...
  7. This is certainly not normal dog behaviour in my experience, to chase and play even dominate may be normal but to viscously attack is very alarming. How does the owner know that this dog wont one day zone in on a human or another smaller dog for instance. I dont think I could trust this dog even on a lead it sounds very risky to me I wonder what the breed is.
  8. Last time i was there (2012) the ranger told me about some idiot who had jumped off a bridge as a private boat was passing under and cracked all the roof with the weight of his landing, he then jumped in and swam to the bank and bogged off leaving the owners of a boat with a severley damaged roof. Its certainly a worry visiting Norwich YS with your own boat but thankfully the ranger said these incidents are all rather isolated.
  9. product codes: 26477 - 1.8m mast 32094 - 3m mast There may be others, search for mast instead of pole!
  10. Great to hear! Im not a fan of instructions, totally takes the fun out of it in my view!!
  11. Sorry to hear that John, must be very upsetting I hope the police are able to track down who did it.
  12. Sidestand, even the omni's can sometimes benefit from a slight twizzle if the pictures not very good! Did your new one come with a 12v booster as that is very important for a good picture!
  13. We have found after much trial and error that the best and most reliable tv aerial for use on the broads is one of these: http://www.maxview.co.uk/products/info_C3008_B.html These maxview ones are fairly small and light when compared with a residential type. They are easily mounted onto a longer pole (screwfix) and installed via a booster you will be hard pushed to find many places you cant get a signal. On the southern broads atleast i have gone from oulton broad to norwich with the tv on and not even needed to move the aerial while underway to keep a good picture! You can get these aerials in kits with a simple bracket mounts which are subtle enough to permantly fix to your boat and maxview sell external mounted sockets and a 12v digital booster if you want to make a proper job of it. Brian Wards used to stock a lot of this stuff not sure if they still do. I have tried Glomex in the past and in my view you are just paying for something that looks pretty and the omni disc type we had was absolute rubbish, have you seen how much glomex charge for extension poles and mounting brackets etc!! Unless your going for tracvision anything in between is just going to be a waste of your money. The key is to get your aerial as high as possible/sensible and its easy to do that with one of these. Hope the link works
  14. Good to hear JM, Paul is definately one Sentinel should keep hold of!
  15. Is paul still there? there was another chap who moved down to work at southwold both decent fellas and would do owt to help you.
  16. Things like that must be extremely irritating for Richardsons and I hope the culprits were charged accordingly, accidents happen and things will get damaged but theres no excuse for cigarette burns whatsoever, sit on the stern with an ashtray its not rocket science is it. Smoking in a drop top with the roof down is the same as smoking inside....IDIOTS
  17. Has anyone else noticed how it never gets stuck swung open for weeks on end either. Always stuck closed!! Being such an eyesore surely something should be being done to improve it....few thousands tins of hammerite should do it!
  18. Theres another vessel permanently moored on the other Jetty at the YS that would be of benefit to everyone else if it moored elsewhere to......budding victor meldrew onboard
  19. I had thought about using the bridge foundations somehow to secure a winch but didnt have the guts to say it for fear of ridicule!! Thanks Jonathon
  20. Very strong wind played a part I believe Matt! It must be causing a big inconvenience to the hire schedule. On our boat we have a plain burgee attached to the bow rail which gives us valuable wind direction information for less than a tenner, may have made little difference in this situation but I often wonder why something so simple isnt provided on a hire boat as standard, they are so useful.
  21. All joking aside i am actually quite suprised it is still there. I wouldnt have thought it would be that difficult to shift it can only be sat on relatively soft mud surely and the Alpha 44 highliners cant weigh all that much, Can They?!
  22. I wasnt actually suggesting I would do it, it was meant purely tongue in cheek.
  23. Sorry question just been answered thanks broadscot! Do salvage rights apply to the broads!!
  24. Is it still there to date or have they managed to shift it!?
