    Speeding

At least on the roads people are held accountable for thier actions.

    Speeding

I have to be totally honest and say I agree with you to a certain extent smellyloo but in the case of speeding or otherwise reckless behaviour I think video of the event ending up on youtube and forums such as this one are exactly what is required to highlight these incidents. In a naive way I hope they serve as a deterrant to others! Im not a fan of camera pointing on the whole but in certain circumstances its not a bad thing at all.

This is totally shocking, imagine if they had done this passing a smaller boat with a family onboard, a baby sat on mums knee and a hot cup of coffee on the table nearby. Its reckless behaviour and I hope they are dealt with. They just spoil it for people who know how to behave and theres more and more of this being reported of late. Idiots like them just make boating stressful.......and breath
  4. Ex herbert woods by the look of it? Who made this mould tho was it in house or outside
  5. My wife who heard partially more of the news than I did thought the news report said a lady in her 70s had a cardiac event and fell off a boat (may not be correct) but is being treated so hopefully the lady is ok.
  6. Has anyone heard anything about something happening to a lady in her 70s on a boat in Potter Heigham? I caught the back end of the news earlier but missed most of the story.
  7. Waveney River centre has a very big hoist it might be worth ringing them to find out if its big enough!
  8. Thats a shame, hope it was ok but I'd have thought it would have heard you coming and kept well out of the way! Unless there was a massive pike chasing it and you actually hit the pike and did it a favour
  9. Presuming 12v If its just a volt meter there should only be two connections positive and neutral (except an extra positive for the gauge back light if it has one which would just be a switched live or ignition live feed, the back lights usually take the neutral from the main neutral to the gauge) you could wire it back to the battery but it may be a bit of a faff and you could really just connect the gauge into your 12v circuit wherever is easiest and closest to where you a putting the gauge, make sure your connections are good tho!
  10. All good advice and information but please tell me what to do about my noisy neighbour whos got a diy habit/fetish to which he can spend all day saturdays and sundays banging and clatering in his shed, Ive been praying for a sinkhole under his shed while hes at work but so far no luck
  11. I think people leaving their mooring and waking me up before atleast 1030am is down right anti social behaviour to be honest.....i mean, why cant people just bring a set of oars with them and set off quietly
  12. Robin in the past I hired a number of times from the same yard Belmore TC is available and each time had to call them out for dodgy batteries, each time one battery needed replacement! I could never decide if I was just unlucky or if it was a trend but I never experienced this same problem at any other yard we hired from! If a hire yard ensured that the batteries onboard were working properly before each hire commenced it could alleviate some need to have engines running on moorings, but wont stop some as there as some that must like the sound of it!
  13. Both look the right shape for wroxham bridge!
  14. Hi Grace, i myself have witnessed some OTT behavior from owners on a few occasions, not always towards hirers either! I immediately dislike any boat owner who becomes all anal about their boat being "brushed" which we all know can easily happen when coming in to moor alongside, we cant wrap them in bubble wrap and some people really do need to get over themselves. The thing that frays my nerves is when you get hit under power because there really is no need for that, people can just make a bad situation worse doing that but otherwise to a certain degree some slight contact when mooring has got to be tolerated as it can happen to the best of us!
  15. Another numpty to beware of! Im glad our boat is safely tucked away in Brundall at the moment
  16. Ahh right well I do agree probably better off without it then!
  17. I didnt know the tracvision systems were noisy, I was rather hoping it would have it! Will there be a decent tv aerial instead without having to run a wire out of a window!
  18. I think in one of the facebook pics the door possibly wasnt fitted when the pic was taken Jonzo, either that or I need to go to specsavers!! Well put LR, i wanted to say similar about the Alpha 44s, they all pale into insignificance when you see Commodore!
  19. Hi Clive ive just seen the pics on your FB page, it looks awesome, is she going to have the tracvision system and wheres the sliding door!! Is there a tv in aft cabin also? I also like how you have done the mudweight its a very stylish touch!
  20. I think with this boat has definately blown the competitors well and truly up the Dilham Canal! How many days till October
  21. Maybe a quid is a bit steep but I suppose it all boils down to getting value for money! I spent many years living in East Yorks where there were 2 attendend toilets in the town that i new of, both clean and both 20p a visit. Very handy indeed.
  22. We initially booked a Broadsman as we didnt notice the Commodore at first but luckily Hoseasons let us change it FOC when we realised our mistake the next day. Nothing would have been worse than arriving at the yard and realising there was a newer boat we could have had.
