  1. Yeah... That's had quite a lot of damage to be a total loss at that age. I would guess cost / availability of parts is a factor. They do look more solid than the junk that used to come out of China, though https://www.euroncap.com/en/results/mg/zs/29657 Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  2. Ah.... Hindsight is a wonderful thing though. So many cars that have become unexpected classics. The RWD version is very rare though and yes they are worth pretty decent money now if in good condition (and even if they're not). https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283455439642 There are some problems as you'd expect of something engineered by a company in its death throes, but when they're worth what they are it's worth sorting them. 3. https://www.gtplanet.net/mazdas-miller-madness-mazda-xedos-9/ Mazda have built some truly mad things over the years, although you have to sort of love them for it
  4. Yeah I've seen a bit of that channel. I reckon the two-door coupe version of the 800 might be the one to have? They do look a bit special, although I suspect you wouldn't want to have a crash in any of them, though. Sounds like the V6's had some issues but most of it could be sorted with new gaskets etc - Much like the dreaded 1.8VVC unit. Those were prone to failures but if a bit of time was spent on them they could actually be a good engine.
  5. Oooh... the 75! My brother in law has two of those and I must admit I quite like them, despite not fitting the typical demographic for Rover ownership. The tourer particularly seems like a comfortable cruiser, and is big enough for trips away without being too huge.
  6. North to South, but the boat will need to come back later the same week...
  7. I'm aware of that one. As some know I've been working on an Android app for some time (admittedly as a side side side side project) but without giving too much away, it would work a little differently. Yes that's what made me think about the feasibility of a Saturday evening slack crossing, as it could end up being a late one.
  8. Yeah I've been there! On a mate's boat about ten years ago we got it properly wrong and even at maximum warp we were barely moving until about Marina keys.
  9. Interesting. Two of you have now said about that option, and yes I would indeed rather be Fighting a flood than an Ebb. I've tended to mostly think in terms of hire boats and slack water crossings so this is all very useful info. I guess as you reach the dolphin (while going south) you keep left and give it some beans then take a wide turn in order to stop yourself getting pushed to the right with the flow as you join the Yare? The Bridge Inn also ticks boxes as a decent overnight pub stop. What's the clearance at Vauxhall bridge (and t'other fella) at High Water?
  10. Well yeah, Android and iOS are Unix-like operating systems so it seems logical. Really the app ought to be able to handle either, though.
  11. I think the crossing times are in BST and the sunrise / sunset in GMT? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  12. What are you suggesting Ian? [emoji14] Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  13. Well indeed, but Hardley Cross and Reedham etc can be a bit lumpy depending on the weather whereas Loddon really isn't.
  14. I guess the question is how much before slack is sensible when going North to South?
  15. It depends... But yeah mostly sort of 'Saint Ollavs'
  16. We're out on this week (see Shorebase screenshot) and am pondering whether it's sensible to do a run South and back from Horning as the tide times aren't brilliant in terms of travelling to / from somewhere either side in daylight. Air draft isn't a problem (only need 6ft 10) and dusk / dawn running is alright as it's not a hireboat though I don't want to be running in the pitch black down south. We'd want to be somewhere not too tidal for a decent night's sleep for the less seasoned boaters aboard, and with a pub / restaurant on the night we cross so the Saturday looks doable for Loddon? Thursday and Friday mornings also look okay for coming back North although the other days aren't so much and we might not be out for as long as that. What do you reckon? Bin it off and stay North, or go for it?
  17. Yeah I've heard that one, Lath-hams is another. Round these parts it's Lay-thums.
  18. I've had a look at the settings and it's nothing we're blocking - There don't seem to be any settings on the mobile App side that prevent it so I think the workaround is as Debs says, yeah.
  19. Ah, okay! I'll check the filters... Haven't had chance to check yet Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  20. Hmmm.... Okay, well I was able to reproduce that. It should accept that so I'll have to check the settings. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  21. Hmmm.... Can you email me one (in original form) so I can have a look?
  22. Well indeed, but if caught out by the tide and with not enough horses then there is a problem.
  23. I've heard people pronounce that at least three different ways, though!
