The marina next to Goodchilds, Burgh Castle I think, has always struck me as a very underused marina, but would make an ideal brokers site with good access to Breydon, or the sea for speed trials.

They must have been quite a way down towards Winterton as well. When leaving the car park at Winterton there was signs asking dog walkers to turn right along the beach away from Horsey. Many people seemed unable to read the sign and were walking dogs to the left. We turned right and walked about halfway towards Hemsby, then back to the very busy café at Winterton. According to one of the seal wardens at Horsey there had been reports the day before of some father trying to place their son on the back of a seal for a photo opportunity!!!!!!! They can move fast when they want to, and can deal out a nasty bite. Beggers belief.

If it is the same boat, I hope the fire brigade are aware that is was not just an empty derelict boat, but may possibly have been occupied.

It does look like the Ferro yacht and if so there has been a family living on it for a couple of years now. At least dad and a young boy and a dog. Sad to see any boat go up in flames, even worse if it is someone's home.

We wondered about No1. Guessed it was good by the queue out the door that was about 30 people long. Not all the party wanted to wait so we went for a pint instead.

I hear it's been a good year for the seals at Horsey. 1811 new pups as off the 28th December count. Saw this couple whilst out walking one day.

MMM, I never understand how a contractor or out sourcer can do the job cheaper, and make a profit at the same time. Why aren't the BA doing this job and using the profit the contractor would have made, to repair even more moorings? Why do my local council no longer empty my bins, but they pay another company to do the job, which that company needs to make a profit as well!!! Same principle.

I hope it wasn't spilt G&T Seriously though I do remember a number of years ago walking along the edge of Breydon past the NRA mooring and seeing a guard ship or marshall for a sailing regatta and they were getting particularly annoyed at being bounced around from the wash of speeding boats. Speed limit or not on Breydon, surely navigating with due care and respect for others comes first. Having said that, every time I have been on Breydon all planeing boats have slowed for me. My only criticism is sometimes slowing too late and the wash catches you up, or if they take off again too soon.

As the creep of refurbishment spread down the Wensum it was only a matter of time before the factory became designer flats, apartments and bedsits you couldn't even swing a cat in. Shall miss the smell of freshly milled mint as you cruise under Trowse bridge.

How long before Adnams gets snapped up? Didn't Woodfordes sell out recently?

Is this really any different to car dealerships who use trade plates for road tests etc. I guess that once a boat is on land then the adjacent waters issue doesn't apply and therefore why should it be tolled, for sale or not. Once in the water then the waters are muddied. Do the trade plates cover a boat for sitting in the water for sale? What happens if the owners come up and want to use it before it is sold? Then surely it needs to be tolled, but if the owners sign a contract that the boat is for sale and will not be used by them, then would the trade plates be enough to cover the fact it is in adjacent waters untolled? Do trade plates only cover the vessel being trialled at that particular time and therefore would it need to be lifted out again if it is not tolled?

Although the toll is only going up by 3% this year, it has to be remembered what effect the compounded high increase from last year has on the toll you will pay this year and each year in the future!!!

I visited The Rockies in Canada this year and all the toilets in the National Parks were of a very similar nature to the one you describe in the tropical garden. I'm guessing that due to the remote location of many of the facilities there is little other option. Most of the ones in Canada had no running water, a peg board with about 12 toilet rolls on it and a few bottles of hand sanitizer and that was it.

There is a large barge that came up from Maldon, moored at the WRC. It has no engine and therefore unable to move, but I understand that it has a fully composting toilet. Would imagine that it is far easier to fit in the larger barges.
