Did nobody watch the real  motor racing yesterday ?  Finalround of the BTCC from Brands Hatch. Far from processional and truly entertaining.

Used to follow BTCC & DTM when "bumper taps" and the such were allowed in the 80`s, never missed a race at Thruxton or Donnington, good ol days.

  2. I know that they cost more but the lever valves are the best and quicker to isolate in an emergency. Metal iso valves now have a PTFE seal rather than rubber and I`m not sure what type is in a plastic iso valve so might cut one open next time I replace one.

  3. When my sister had one of hers put to sleep after 13yrs the vet said to bring the other dog in as well, once the deed was done the second dog took one sniff of his mate and seemed to realise and understand straight away. No wandering around the house looking for his mate or anything. Bit late now of course but may help others in the future.

But is the water not draining from the system partially attributed to the lack of dredging on the upper Yare ?

This subject has been flogged to death and it seems the BA are burying their heads in the sand , or should that be accumulated silt ?

There was no mention that I recall of the southern waters.

Is it the BA or The Environment Agency that is preventing the dredging of the lower Bure??

According to the last BA meeting that I watched online dredging is not the answer to high waters on the north, according to their model going sideways is, something to do with water not running off.

I have learnt not to listen to the news or check the forum on such days, it happened last year.

Having now watched the earlier recording, it is a very good race.

My fault for logging on then? It was set up to be a cracking race going by quali yesterday so still going to watch it regardless. All I need now is for the ariel to fall of the roof halfway through :default_2gunsfiring_v1:

main isoator worked fine, shiney pipes, well where the paint was they were cleaned up with sandpaper and wire wool until they gleamed before I fitted the compression fitting, no leaks so far i did manage to buy a 3m length of 15mm copper pipe, but then I found a 1m flexible 15mm to 15mm hose, so the last metre up the wall is now flexible, i ended up using  less than 300mm of the 3m pipe.plus i have the added bonus of an isolating valve in the cold line to the shower and bath, I always fit an isolating valve if I am working on a water pipe, so most things now can be changed with just shutting off the main isolator and closing a valve. rather than draining the whole tank in the loft.

Soon as I see those flexible copper pipes I know it was a DIY job and a word to the wise if I may, always use Full Bore iso valves otherwise the flow of water is restricted through the valve.

Don't worry OBB, the BBC news has just completed the job showing what happened.

If you still don't know, avoid the news, they go straight into it without warning.

They've been doing this ever since they lost the TV rights.

I stay away from all TV and radio news on a Grand Prix Sunday after 12 noon for this very reason. At least it has stopped raining and the sun has come out now so I can get out.

  9. Main isolaters, turn them fully closed then fully open and then close them just past half a turn. That way you normally can wiggle them free if they become become stuck. Another trick on a stuck valve is to slacken off the top hexagonal nut three quarters of a turn and soak in WD40, tighten the nut afterwards though.

  10. Just remembered a story where a hire yard stopped a customer trying to take one of their mattresses home because it was so nice and another tried to walk out with a table lamp because they liked it!

"Is it Timbo Grandma?" asked Arlo cuddling his grandma. "He is old and very poorly Grandma." he said simply and cuddled up with his Grandma to watch Lucas The Spider for the ten millionth time.

Become worried if you ever overhear Ario speaking about you in the same way!

Can you elaborate OBB? A friend of mine had a note left on her car saying that the writer had hit her and asking her to phone a number. She didn’t as no damage had been done at all but it was all very strange.

Sure, so somebody hits another car in an outside car park and passers by see it happen. The drivers writes out a quick note saying "Sorry, call me" but the number left is phoney and the crowd walks on.

Just what aI dont need.Had a phone call from some low life saying.I left a note on he's car saying I hit his car.Considering I dont drive and not really been out of the house  for two weeks, unlikely. So just be aware.

That`s not a scam as such Ian, I think I know what might have happened, If they call back then ask them where they live.
