  1. I really enjoyed it. Loads of people there and burgers were a bonus. There were sea shanties as well if thats your sort of thing. Carparking was free, nearby and well signposted Some people had gone to an extraordinary amount of effort for what was effectively a 30 second "drive by". Congrats must go to them for a good show. My only slight grumble was that they had cleared all the moorings so everyone could see the parade go past and then moored Hathor right along the front thus blocking the views. Pretty much half of the viewing area had restricted visibility. All in all though a really good night. Mrs Lovejoy has already decided we will enter next year. And I have been searching for pretty lights and things.
  2. Pretty sure this is now moored a few boats away at Broadsedge. Will check the number and get back to you
  3. I saw her being craned in yesterday. Its a very pretty looking thing and looked lovely as it came silently past. Andy
  4. I was chatting to someone at the yard who told me they were trying to move away from the big stag/hen groups who probably dont do much for the Richardson reputation. How true that is I dont know but thats what I was told.
  5. It makes it very, very pretty. Stunningly pretty in fact. That's what it makes it.
  6. Now I am more confused than ever. Just when I thought I had made my decision the subject of hydraulic steering comes up again. I know this will be 1. The most expensive option 2. The easiest to fit 3. Pretty much maintenance free 4. Sure to bring shame on me and my ability to go straight But it does seem like the obvious choice. #scratchingmyhead
  7. I sort of looked and it does all look great and easy but I havent driven a boat with that system and have been told its go no feel at all. Maybe I should convince someone who has this set up to let me play.
  8. JA and Robin have convinced me that the old ways are the best. They are like my Jedi masters and I am easily convinced. And the Morse cable thing is rusty and graunchy and hateful. And almost impossible to get out and service. And its a rack and pinion system that has been cut down so it fits in the steering cabinet thing so is not particularly good anyway. And the decks are being replaced this winter so its an ideal opportunity to make a change. And probably other reasons but mainly Robin and JA. :)
  9. I dont partake of the falling down water. Its just my inherent inability to keep the boat pointing in one direction for any length of time.
  10. Any chance you could put some pics up and let me know a price please? Andy
  11. Hi Thanks for the guidance and links I have looked at those sort of things but have been advised that the nylon wheels will wear out very quickly with a stainless wire running over them. Andy
  12. I am looking for second hand ones ideally. If anyone has any and are coming to the boat show please bring them with you. There is tea and biscuits if you do. Thanks
  13. Hi all I am planning to convert the steering on Lovejoy from the Morse system to a pulley and cable sort of affair. I am in need of some pulleys just like the ones in the picture Can anyone point me in the right direction? Direction. See what I did there? Thanks
  14. Nipper alert!! Just seen her trundling through Wroxham Bridge, flotilla of little nippers in tow, looking gorgeous in the early afternoon sun. Lots of admiring comments from all the punters standing around eating chips and feeding the " big white ducks" I am now massively envious.
  15. I have stocked up on hose pipes. Just in case there is a ban this summer.
  16. Looking good. Not sure how you are fixed for batteries but I have a brand new one of these if you are interested? https://www.overlander.co.uk/lipo-batteries/7-4v-2s/10000mah-7-4v-2s-20c-supersport-xl-lipo-battery.html Drop me a pm if so. Andy
  17. Thanks UncleM. Apologies for posting something that people couldn't actually see. :)
  18. This all popped up on Facebook Nothing to do with me at all. Just thought some of you may not have seen it Ludham Illuminated Boat Parade Andy
  19. until
Saw this come up on FB and thought it might be fun to pop along to. Not sure if I will Ludham Illuminated Boat Parade I have nothing at all to do with this. Nothing at all. Just thought I would share with you all.
  20. Just for info I have now measured the old prop and it seems to be (calculations done twice) a 16x10 which is a bit different to the 17x13 now attached. No wonder she was revving slightly. Anyone in need of a 16x10 x 3 blade in VGC with a 1.25" shaft? Toot Toot Andy
  21. Yo Ho Ho Etc. Eric at Cox`s fitted the new prop this morning. Quick pootle down to Potter - just to make sure it wont fall off. Its blimmin transformed the boat. It now turns better and is a lot more responsive to throttle inputs (Read that as actually slowing down when going from forward to reverse in slightly less than geological time). 1000rpm is about 4MPH (give or take a tide/ wind combo) Did an easy 6mph in the bit that allows you to do 6mph and nothing vibrated off the shelves. Its a miracle Guvnor. And I can now do the How Hill run in less than 12 parsecs !!! I haven't measured the old prop yet but it looks significantly smaller than the 17x13 thats now attached. Thanks for all your advice An(dy) Solo
  22. Newsflash - Newsflash - Newsflash Tickover reduced to 700 rpm - Check 17x13 prop purchased (on the recommendation of Peachment's and with advice from this forum - Check Getting the boat out and prop changed - ongoing. :( Everyone I have contacted has either said that they will call me or that I should ring back "in a week or so". Anyway. I shall report back on progress and stuff Thanks for all your help and advice. Andy
  23. Thanks for all your help with this. Progress will be made and i will update you as to the results I have a couple of days spare next week so will... 1. Get digital rev counter thing 2. Sort out tickover (700 RPM ish) Robin - thanks for the offer. I probably wont be over your end of the world until the wooden weekend. Will chat more and sort something out. (or I may well cancel all my work and pottle over before then. I will let you know)
  24. Thank you all so blimmin much for your advice. I am working away for a week or so but will play with tickover as per your advice and see how that all goes. Just another quick question Can I trust the rev counter or would anyone advise another way of checking? Surely someone will have invented a thing that checks it more accurately than a 50 year old cable driven rev counter?
