  1. Apart from Sunday 19th (which was a lovely day) it's been pretty grim. Forecast for the next week or so not looking good either
  2. Shows the difference a week makes. Herringfleet was empty when we passed and only 4 other boats when we moored at Somerleyton. There is a wild mooring in a little cove on the left going up river between Somerleyton and Oulton Dyke. We've never used it but often see a boat moored there.
  3. Tower Bridge is quoted at 6'10" there looked to be a bit spare on top of that as we went through. The boat is a 35' centre Alphacraft. The Pilot took a fairly short run. You may have got through at a pinch but probably wisest not to risk it! Glad you had a good trip anyway including sunny Suffolk!
  4. .... although I think Mr G called in there last week and sampled the cider
  5. Seconded and don't forget the pub!
  6. Yes, remember it, fish to farm to fork or something similar
  7. Hi M, no, sadly handed the boat back yesterday Hi Simon, afraid we didn't eat at the F and F as mainly there for the Norfolk Nog and St Giles gin so sorry can't comment on the grub. Plenty of people in eating though. Sorry you had a bad experience though. It's not particularly cheap so you expect a high standard.
  8. When we went through the pilot was advising folk to arrive earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon so assuming there was a slight variation around high tide. Tower Bridge is 'plated' at 6 foot ten and we had a bit to spare.
  9. Or could be the Recruiting Sargent...
  10. There was a boat moored there as we passed each way yesterday so obviously moved on. Very pretty stretch of river.
  11. Looks good Malcolm, enjoy! And belated happy birthday from us. Didn't make it to Paul's this time sadly.
  12. Only joking Mr G I'm sure you do
  13. Just dipped the fuel. Look to have used barely one third of the tank, the Nogs take it easy with the tide. So I think Mrs Nog's gins have it
  14. Close call between beer and Mrs Nogs gins
