  1. Thats exactly the point Grace, fully agree. And it's no worse in winter. It can get just as windy in the summer.
  2. Mill pond Mrs Nog at the helm Darkness on the cd player
  3. Like a mill pond in the narrows.
  4. Here we go, Wish us luck! Winds dropped and levels very low.
  5. Hi Grace I agree, wonderful pub. Chris Shepherd and John and Tracy did a great job under difficult conditions but sadly no one has really got to grips with it since.
  6. Hi MM Just posted on the Berney thread. It looks to closed but as far as I am aware it's not licenced for the winter anyway. Probably as well as I'd be the only one in Tides dropping like stone
  7. Well we are moored outside the Berney at the mo. No sign of life and a small sign in the window saying we are closed. There was a window open upstairs so there is probably someone there. It's probably best not to leave it empty. The old licence I think only covered something like March to November unless anything has changed. New paint looks quite smart though.
  8. Yikes! Another boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Hi Monica No probs, hers a couple for starters. Arrived safely at Berney Arms just waiting for the tide. A bit choppy but I really don't think there will be a problem. According to Mrs Nog the wind will be abating as the day gores on
  10. Just dipped the fuel. I reckon we have used about 40 litres. Considering we've done Acle to Brundall, Oulton Broad and back to Reedham and heating on, I think that's very good. Taking it steady and going with the tide does reap dividends.
  11. Hi Monica Many thanks, yes wind has dropped considerably. Best time to cross Breydon will be around midday so hopefully wind will drop further. Will probably moor at Berney Arms to assess situation before crossing but fingers crossed we should be fine. We keep you posted
  12. Good to Orca afloat New Year here we come It's been windy here in Reedham but I've known worse. I think the West side of the country has been more badly affected. It's calmer today and amazingly warm, me and Mrs Nog are sitting here without having the heating on. No chance of getting frozen in at the moment. To be honest it's been pretty mild for the last eleven years whilst we've been doing this.
  13. The low tide today was very low, lowest I've seen it at Reedham
  14. Hi John No, not set off yet. The clip is part of my Humpty Dumpty devote collection. However am in anticipation just waiting for Mrs Nog to dry her hair
  15. The ducks and seagulls enjoying Mrs Nog's corn.
  16. ......... In the meantime......... .............
  17. Hi Monica I'll keep on eye on it, certainly won't take any risks. Might give the Breydon control a bell.
  18. Ooooerrrrr, hope Desmond keeps away from Breydon Water!
  19. Strong westerly wind too, hope it drops a bit tomorrow..
  20. Not seen the water level this low at Reedham for a while. Moored up OK but Mrs Nog had a scramble on getting ashore. Lifejacket on of course.
  21. I've an idea that Len Funnel had something to do with a pump and there was some disagreement with the pub. Could be completely off the mark of course.
  22. Bit choppy on Oulton Broad this morning. Where's Peter? Photo of our Christmas lights
