  1. https://youtu.be/aviWdkOHDU4 I have not tried it but will do next time I strip the bedding.
  2. Well done to you Andy and it is good to see. We will probably be on the river next week.
  3. Thank you alan, my brain hasnt engaged yet this morning.
  4. I have just re read my post. It should have read - it is good to see the boats and holiday makers on the river .. etc. Unfortunately it will not let me edit. Gosh not long and you will be joining them. Have a really good holiday.
  5. On a trip up to Norwich yesterday (by road) we passed a Silverline on the river at Beccles as we passed over the bridge there and another moored in the YS at Norwich. It is good to see the boats and holiday makers on the river once more. All we need now is some decent weather.
  6. To buck the trend, I posted last year that the inner roll of your Andrex Toilet Roll has got a lot larger resulting in less product for your money. Another way of cheating us all.
  7. I am making a note APRIL 23RD 2015 St George's Day.
  8. I looked a moment ago and it is even more packed now with bodies. All singing and dancing and it is only 4.45 in the afternoon. In New York it is lunchtime and they are just getting going.
  9. Happy St Patrick's Day. I have just been looking at the web cam outside of the Temple Bar Pub in Dublin. Just look at that crowd. What on earth is the attraction to being in that lot. Can you imagine us English celebrating St George's Day and the rest of the world saying "Happy St Georges Day". ---- No neither can I.
  10. It is ok sneaking through it is the sneaking back that is the problem if the tide decides that the next one is a high one.
  11. On this link it shows that one of the little boats in Beccles Harbour has sunk. Do hope the owner has been informed.
  12. Thank you for clearing that one up Alan. So if in real trouble we could call Maffetts and if they could they would come out to us. Just hope and pray it never happens.
  13. I second what Littlesprite says, my Mum's name is Gay (short for Grace) , we have had to alter this to Kay now because of all of this nonsense.
  14. My old Mum is almost 95 and when my son went to the Care Home to visit this morning she was sitting up in bed chomping away on all of the chocolates we have sent her. What I would give for her to be well enough of mind ((she has Alzheimers Dementia) as she is in her body. Bless her , never did like the water but she would love to just watch the boats going past if we hired a bungalow. Happy Mother's Day from me too to all Mums.
  15. Yes and a big welcome from me too. Thank you for the link. We live in Worlingham near to Beccles so these folks are not that far away from us by road or by boat. How is it up there for weed at the moment. Can a boat over 30 foot turn up there, I really cannot remember , such a long time since we went up that far. We are a 30 footer.
  16. I think in all fairness they do provide a service to the Hire Boat companies only. There is a golden opportunity for someone on the Southern Rivers to provide this service. I hope I dont regret saying this but in all the years and those are many I have paid Boulters we have never had to call them out. That is good I know but it would give peace of mind for a Yard down South to provide a service to us who would rather be Darn Sarf. Any Takers ?????
  17. That is good to know, thank you Clive but we are based at St Olaves which is such a shame. Just received this from Maffetts. Hi there Sorry we do not do a recovery scheme Regards Lynda Not sure but wires seem to have got crossed somewhere.
  18. Now I emailed and telephoned Maffetts last year and was told that they do not operate a recovery service, they only will rescue hire boats whose company they had an agreement with - but and a big but if that has altered I will go with them. I will ring them again. Thank you for the list.
  19. Has anyone any connections or recommendations of a boat yard that provides a recovery service on the Southern Rivers please. I am just about to renew with Boulters for a further year but have often felt that they are so far away , we would be days waiting for recovery and then the agreement is that if the boat is not repairable there and then it would have to be towed up to their Yard for repair. However saying all that I would rather have their protection plan than nothing at all. So there is an opportunity for a Yard to provide this service on the Southern Side of the Broads.
  20. I have been banging on about Southern Recovery Service for years now. You say Yards down South will help, what yards offer this service, do tell. We are with Boulters at the moment. They say they cover ALL of the Broads. By the way I cannot open the links , just get a load of gobbledegook.
  21. If you need to know anything Elaine at the Duck Island Boat Company is always there to help.
  22. We are going with the Duck Island Boat Company. They do a luxury boat for two and we are looking forward to a change of scenery. Very good company, not exactly cheap , but do they provide everything you could possible want, besides a free bar that is. Will tell you all of the pluses and minuses when we get back.
  23. Alan isnt Wednesday 15th March 2015 a Sunday, tis on my calendar I am looking at. It is also Mother's Day no less. Do Pru and Tim cover the Lancaster Canal by any means.
  24. Just taken delivery of our brand new cushions for the front well. In the end Jeckells made them for us. From start to finish they did it in two weeks. Brilliant job and very pleased with price and workmanship.
