    JOB

Does anyone know of any jobs going at a boatsyard , cleaning , fixing boats and maintenance of grounds ect ... anything concidered . thanks gary
  13. just a little update as requested , not been to caravelle for nearly a month due to working 11 hour days and most weekends , unfortunately i may not get much done the next few months because i'm out of work from today . would really like a job in a boatyard full or part time if anyone knows of anyone wanting to give me a chance. (or anything else 30 mile radius of watton or loddon area) on a positive note had a nice trip from norwich to hardley mill and back after a picnic bank holiday monday on a hire boat with the gf and 2 friends , it was first time for all 3 of them and there hooked ..
  14. i'll have to borrow a few extention cables for when i'm working on caravelle ....lol .... i have the same type of meter beside caravelle and have only used £1.50 electric the last 3 months despite using lots of power tools . you'd be suprised how little you use ,so if several people put a £1 card in or just one put a £5 in then there will always be a nice float for someone . some people do use the trip switch as an on/off for outside instalations and thats perhaps why there off .
  15. brandon can be a bottle neck too , i live in watton and work just south of fiveways round about on A11 , can get to work in 1/2 hour at 5 am but getting home can take 1 1/2 hrs over brandon . your best bet would be to take the bury to thetford road then joint the A11 there or carry on to needham market and take the A140 , unfortunately it only takes an accident or tractor and you gain nothing , travel early mornings for best results ..
  16. i walked past them several times saturday and sunday too (short cut from caravelle to get coffee and grub) and thought they looked good, just not practical. the electrician was working on them saturday perhaps i should have said something from a practical point of view but 9 out of 10 tradesmen don't take kindly to such comments .. was lovely in loddon sat eve watching the herron catching its supper .
  17. transom is now fitted and had a layer of thinned varnish will be sanded then another layer of thinned varnish before final sanding and 5 layers of varnish ... planking is also complete midships , 3 small planking jobs left that i can see until we reach deck height .
  18. newer pics here , https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4220987137213.161092.1661233635&type=1&l=e9eaf95d54 work progressing not quite as quickly as i want .. but getting there ...more pics will be posted during next few weeks ...
  19. hought you might like this one , http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/crime/updat ... _1_1857039
  20. no low bridge but went for a sail today, in a focus ... great ryburgh , norfolk https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4935448798308 its the lane up to the farm i work on , only way in and out, water level was alot higher at 6 am ...
  21. if you want some used fenders until you get paid i have a few on caravelle you can have for free pick up in loddon , gary
  22. that looks promising , will you have a ' for sale for customer' section where they could either send you the products or send them on once you've sold them for a percentage of course .. ebay's fee's are making them less attractive to me but have a few bits to sell, new and used. gary
  23. here is a useful link for journey times on the broads http://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/boat ... roads.html , i'll be on s622 caravelle moored at the beauchamp arms from saturday afternoon or sunday morning for a week . can't miss here she's a restoration project .. lol .. . have fun .
  24. the yatch at beauchamp arms has lost its boarding ladder he noticed it gone 11 days ago , i should see him in a couple of weks so i'll ask him what it looked like . has anyone found a wooden chair with arms and red draylon floating on the yare? the landlord at beauchamp arms is missing his , royston was peeved 2 weeks ago and threw it in .. lol ..
  25. first of all you'll have to educate the idiots that there nasa (or equivelent) speed log is in knots and not mph . perhaps changing signs to speed in knots would help ? seems o one can judge walking speed anymore . lol .. i have the same problem every day with my boat , one thing i've notice is when a large number of gin palaces goes past to oulton broad to fast the combination of waves makes it worse (many of wich have 2011 tax stickers). unfortunatly the ba only warn about speeding to keep harmony , my solution is am looking at new moorings for next year. did anyone else see the three boats travelling to norwich 11.30 +- pm , 2 were pushing into each other .. no nav lights or anything .. the mind boggles at the inteligence of some ppl. but who do you call, ba have gone home and police say its not there problem ... maybe the broads are classed as international waters? lol
