  2. Hi Jonny, I am confident that Hipperson's will do a good job, jusy wondered what other peoples boats BT layout was like really
  3. I'm one of those that NEEDS to know how everything works !! Think I stripped my first engine at age 10...... Dad was livid :-D
  4. No it's not a DIY job! Can you imagine! Me with the jigsaw standing at the side of my hull Hipperson's are going to do it thank god, but im one of these that likes a picture in my mind as to what will go where etc.
  5. David, are you saying it would be better to have a battery up front and run the charging leads forwards to it?? I suppose there will be room under the front bunks for it all but what about the hydrogen gas produced while charging.
  6. I think that was the main problem Perry, The boats were all getting to the stage where they need money spending on them and some of the fleet probably were due for replacement . I also think Mike is sick of the red tape.
  7. Thanks so much for all the replies, I can see this is going to take a bit of thinking about as the thruster will be about 7 metres away from the battery bank
  8. The pic with the still water is stunning Mark! Where was it taken?
  9. At the end of this season I am having the boat lifted out to have a bowthruster installed, now my question is would it be ok to have the power source for it from my starter battery rather than adding another dedicated battery, as they do use a quick hi amp draw rather like starting the engine? So surely this would suit the starter battery just fine and it's not like it's in use often??
  10. LOL! Dont worry mate, I think she will have had many hundred knocks since then!!!
  11. Hi Jonny yeah noticed that one, looks good, think it is BOUDICA?
  12. How much was it worth back then Jim??? Do tell!
  13. There is only one solution Jim and that is swap the boat to match the sink!!!
  14. Blimey! Had better get on the phone to the insurance company !!! £47k Makes mine look a bargain!
  15. They do seem well layed up Jonny, Didn't stop someone smacking a chunk out of one of the rear corners while she was sat on her moorings though Hit and run as well which really pleases me! Another job that needs doing when she comes out of the water this autumn!
  16. I remember back in 1984 we hired 'Rapier' from Bounty, The yard was so busy in those days with new moulds coming out of the shed all the time. I wrote to them after getting back home from holiday requesting the brochures of the different types of boat they built. You could get anything from a dayboat right up to those great long water buses you see giving trips out on rivers. Shame it all had to end. Would have never believed back then as a 14 year old that I would own my own Bounty one day...... Happy Days
  17. It's Kermit green so people keep telling me
  18. Hi Joe, It's not a hire boat it's all mine :-D
  19. Bl***y paparatzi!!!! Small but perfectly formed mate
  20. I remember, it was last year at Ranworth. The inside is ok I guess but lets just say it's 1970's style preserved. I am replacing the kitchen this year so the update begins
  21. Wish the inside of mine looked as good as that Jonny
  22. You always say the right thing Jonzo Jonny dont tempt fate! It could happen one day
  23. I quite like the old Bounty's as well! :-D
  24. You raise a good point there Col! My insurance insists on the same, the only thing I can think of doing is to put the name on the wooden transom (If it has one) perhaps buy stick on letters as a template draw round them then remove and fill in with paint.
  25. Hey Keith! That must be Yorkshire beer being pumped into the waveney!! Never see a head like that from Norfolk ale
