Yes a great time was had by all, nice to meet some new members and old, would be nice to try out my sea legs again if possible, nice pics adam why the black & white pics?have you run out of colour?ha,ha.roll on the next one.
Simon/Mark,
I am thinking of going to the Ship inn Reedham on saturday to give my 5 penneth if you want a lift,i can go via rackheath and Salhouse on the way as i would have to anyway, let us know by pm if you do,i will need your directions/mobile.
Well i had an oil content test before i bought Tottyme and cost around £80 for a 2.5 Bmc engine i was quite shocked at the amount of metals /antifreeze etc found in the sample, resulting in me still buying the boat at reduced cost but changing the engine.it told me the engine altho 27 years old and an ex hireboat was breaking down inside ie.cylinders/leaks/so much different metals found, yes,i thought it was worth it.
Thanks Clive i'll have a look.but i think when it was in hire the batteries went flat so the auto bilge pump did not come on so the bilges filled up with oil and water from the old leaking engine, then when the batteries were recharged the oil was left stuck to the bilge sides so creating a smell. have been using Bilgex to try and make the smell fresher.
change of post thread to,
like your project coming on nicely cannot believe how much work has been done expect your looking forward to the first voyage next year.expect a lot of people will be taking pictures on the launch trip.
David there is a smell of diesel everytime i go to the boat (only in the rear cabin) but dissappears when i open the doors and windows.just thought it was lack of ventilation at the rear thats all.
Does anyone know what size of ventilation grill is required in a rear engine bay to enable the engine to breath properly and not let fumes into the boat via other gaps.? The one i have at the moment is only about 5 inches long by 4 inches high.
I just love looking at varnished wooden boats that have been done well,Clive, just don't like working to keep them up to scratch. There is a nice varnished boat for sale at Horning boat sales near the Ferry inn.someone has spent a lot of time doing it up.nice.
I think the Carribean picture was taken by my new Kodak camera, probably thats the reason it looks different, still does not open up when clicked on the full size.where are the professionals when you need them.
I uploaded these 3 pics and and all came out different.ie: the first showed the jpegs and no border, the second seemed just right but the pic does not expand when clicked on,the 3rd shows the jpegs again and a different box, strange that any ideas anyone,I uploaded them all the same way.Ta.
