Just been thro wroxham to le boatyard and it seems they are 30/32' Brooms boats with a fixed roof saw about 6/7 there and there is also 2 more at Horning marina to high to go under wroxham bridge so take it they will be transporting them by road.there were 2 men working on cleaning the boats asked them what they were, got a mumbled mjtyacxbv!! so don't know, but they are definately Brooms saw the name on the side.

  7. Yes had a great weekend met the usual people,mbird,happyjax2,boaters,flying fortress, boycee, aquaholic, broads ambition, etc saturday night with John Collerick and Boycee and christine and maggie on bongoe's were fab,BBQ was great met lots of people came last in the welly wanging but was not bothered as did not have a trial run which i think we all should have had . but never mind we won the TOP prize of a short break in one of Richardsons boats looking forward to it as they are a great company that looks after there customers so that they come back time and again. have to say the weather was absolutely great warm and hot at times with just a hint of rain on monday night .There was a quiz that you had to find certain clues in the area we got one of the lowest scores as probably the reason was i just want to chill out on a meet and not tax my brian too much each to there own. On sunday a few of us decided to motor to coltishall for the night followed by a good night onboard Tot Tyme.Monday some of us flying fortress,Boycee,Tot Tyme motored to ranworth staithe followed by a night in the maltzers. all in all a great weekend.AND it has to be a record of seeing around 30 Heron's in such a short time.
  8. Hav'nt a clue Keith looks like part of a church am i warm?
  9. Yes,simon,I think its something probably to do with the Japanese as a lot of cameras/lenses seem to come from there and the crap exchange rate, just why is the Euro is so high . Also i purchased something last december and now it costs £900 more 6 months later and that came from Japan.
  10. Well managed to peel off my old 30 years old Mankey carpet using carpet solvent and when i peeled of the pld carpet used a very strong paint stripper(name escapes me)which got off the thick gluey substance finishing of by washing the residue off.now ready for fitting my new carpet tiles.
  11. Hi,Jupes, Have spent most of my boating career at sea so know a bit about the effects of most things required to get under way and proceed with safety as do some other people on here,i must admit i prefer the sea side of boating as it is more exciting and you need to think more of what you about to do,ie; passage planning etc.But now as my wife' Olive's back is not too good we have swopped our Sealine 270 for a Bounty boat for easier boating for her.But i still hanker for the sea time.
  12. Hi,Gordon, the carpet underneath is so manky that i have to get rid of it as you don't know what lurks in it you can catch all sorts of deseases from somethings.
  13. Thanks to everyone who has given me advice on removal of adhesive glue substance i will try anything.
  14. Thanks Jill,I have bookmarked this site for future refs as am going on hols this monday for 3 weeks so will have to try it out when i get back,Ta.
  15. There must be something Dan that will de-glue the glue for want of a better word, someone must have been in the same predicament.Trouble is you have to try and protect the wooden flooring at the same time.
  16. Iv'e never seen glue like it tried to scrape it off stuck solid, did annoy me at the time no wonder they put newer but still crap carpet on top.
  17. Hi,Julz, did not think of that probably as i did not have the dryer to hand at the time,so tried soaking in white spirit and will leave it awhile, somehow don't think it will work.
  18. I am in the process of removing old carpet put in by a hire boatyard and it looks like they have glued some of it to the floor is there anything to use that will unglue the carpet and make it easier to remove?
  19. Glad you had a great time Mark, liked the 2 sunsets brilliant colours and yes you certainly picked the right week for the weather little wind and dry and mostly sunny.
  20. Hi,Mark,Very nearly went darn sarf for the Easter weekend to Geldeston/Beccles as that is where the Southern meet is going to be, thought of it then decided to motor to Coltishall/Wroxham/Acle/Barton Turf instead as hav'nt been there for awhile.knew you would have a good time as have been down there a good few times so know the area well, and now have a boat that will go thro Beccles bridge.
