By 12:00pm you've got new holiday makers arriving eager to know if the boat is ready yet. Quite how there would be also time to go around the boat in a dinghy, scrub the hull or paint a little ding there and sort a fender out there I know not when you are dealing with this sort of size operation - of course you could simply employ more people but then could you keep the prices as keen as they are?
By 12:00 Robin, I was talking to one Yard during my recent two weeks and they said someone turned up at 10:00. We usually turn up between 12:00 and 13:00 at Maffetts and then walk to Rosie Lees. Turned up at 13:00 this year to be told that the boat had been ready for us for a while. Excellent service.

We clean inside and out before we hand back. Does not take long if you keep on top of it as you go along. We are hiring in France next year and it is very clear what is required.

Think you got the look there Iain.

Excellent, enjoyed that.

We have been with Maffetts for the last four years now so you are probably right.
-
I thought they had an adapted lead if you asked.

Quite entertaining it has been too Iain.

To be fair to LR it is a small blue fender and it is very well hidden!

Just back from two lovely weeks on theBroads. We saw a few all male parties with flags flying but never came across any trouble. All well behaved when we were close.

We watched Evening with Bob at the Surlingham Ferry on Sunday 31st July. Excellent performance, we both really enjoyed it. Recommend it to anyone.

The message re Breydon is everywhere, the boatyards now do tides and Breydon crossing during the handover. They leave a copy of the broadcaster, the skippers hand book. It is covered on the BA site and all of the forums. To not take it in you really have to be a recluse, and they would not come boating. So unless it is due to a failure eg rudder, engine. Failure to read or think is not covered, although failure not to panic probably is.
So why do so many people get stuck on the mud? Interesting as it should not be due to lack of knowledge and unless the statistics for those hiring on the Broads re IQ is worse than average it should not be due to that, me included. Could it be due to confusion? As you go round the windy bits you do need to watch the posts. Red and green swapping side whether you are going up stream or down. Then Panic sets in.
Perhaps BA need to set up a funded team to investigate this further and spend more toll money.

He is not going to be able to forget that one is he. A momentary aberration and condemned for life.

I thought that the order of the post was very amusing. Griff saying that Mrs G insisting it was just the two of them then you saying it is the first time just the two of you. My sense of humour sorry.

Now, I know that I am a bit slow, but are Hazelgirl and Mrs G one and the same?

Welcome from me as well

Play nicely everyone. No need to get personal. Too much trouble in the world already.

Sorry that should have been Yard not Hard. What a Muppet.

It is always best to give any yard a call and discuss any issues or enquiries. We have always found the yards we have hired from very helpful including Summercraft.

We saw Nipper before its alterations a few weeks ago and it looked lovely. Excellent presentation and so much hard work.
