  1. If you have Microsoft Office installed John, this comes with a programme called Microsoft Picture Manager in which you can resize a whole batch of pics at once.

  3. For some it has never ended Barry. Still seems to be a number of people that the closed season doesn't apply to
  4. We drift fished for half an hour on the trip back from Southwold to Lowestoft in a slight swell of only about 0.5m. That half an hour was enough for Sharon and Harry to both start feeling a bit sick. As you say Rod, it can't be underestimated and will ruin your day no matter how much you love boats.
  5. It's called Tracy and her never ending supply of hospitality
  6. Good photos, Gav, and luckily none of them too embarrassing Here are my offerings:
  7. The sea was the wrong temparature/there wasn't an R in the month/the fish weren't biting ... any more we can think of ? On the trip back to Yarmouth, we did apparently drift right over a wreck (according to the chart plotter anyway) but still no luck .
  8. Even if you don't think you get sea sick, Jonny, I would recommend taking some travel sickness pills alnd wearing some sea bands. The rolling motion of a boat at anchor whilst fishing will test even the strongest stomach....!
  9. We were thinking of it a while ago Merlyn, but decided against it in the end as it was so close after Whitsun.
  10. Well, I am still a bit undecided as to whether to go around the outside from Yarmouth to Lowestoft on Sunday, or via Somerleyton. There was already a lift at Haven bridge booked on Sunday for 12:00 noon for another vessel, so I have simply tagged onto that and will just cancel if I decide to bottle it, as there are no other lifts booked on Sunday at all. It is looking like it will be a bit lumpy, but assuming the wind direction is going to maintain NW I am hoping it will be like a couple of weeks ago when Col and I headed back to Yarmouth; White Horses on Oulton and yet a calm sea
  11. Exactly why I wanted to give it a try... my course was bloody ages ago!
  12. It was before we got there, but yes I did try once Ian
  13. That is exactly what I was originally planning to do. Oh decisions, decisions!
  14. I must have got my undergarments in a tangle then Paul, thanks. I'l ltop up at Brooms then before we set off as they were 20p litre cheaper than RNSYC at easter!
  15. Hmm I'll keep an eye on the forecast tomorrow then, but Haven bridge needs to be booked by tomorrow afternoon We can still get through Somerleyton with the folding bits down, especially as we are near srpings, so maybe that is the safer option for getitng to Lowestoft after all.
  16. But texts are sooo last decade (and I don't have your number)
  17. I seem to remember someone mentioning fuel available in Hamilton Dock somewhat cheaper than normal prices. We currently have 2/3 full tanks, so plenty to get to Lowestoft, but I would rather fill up for a bit cheaper if it is an option, than pay the pump prices at Brooms or worse still RNSYC. Does this service only operate during normal working hours, does it have to be pre-booked??
  18. As the salty contigent seem to be arriving at Lowestoft at different times/days and no specific location (RNSYC, Haven, Hamilton, wherever there is space!) would it be a good idea if I tried my new DSC capabilites to make contact when we (hopefully) arrive Sunday to find out where people are? I haven't used the DSC call function yet
  19. You can tell HE hasn't got a salty bottom
  20. I couldn't work out how a NW could generate such a swell, but as you say, I didn't realise these were offshore heights. I think I will book a Sunday bridge tomorrow afternoon and just take a chance. If the worst comes to the worst a quick about face and a night at Town Hall quay could be on the cards
  21. Now there was me planning to book Haven bridge for Sunday to trundle down the outside to Lowestoft.... A quick check of Windguru reckons 2.8m wave height though . Guess I might be booking Mutford instead and checking tide times at Somerleyton
  22. The Aquafibre site in Rackheath has been taken on by a local fibreglass company called R G W Roe & Son, who I believe were the backbone of Aquafibre anyway. They also do GRP swimming pools, roofs and a good line in giand GRP dinosaurs! I also understand all the Aquafibre moulds are also still there and available should you want one, and the links to Brooms are still there.
  23. Tut Tut, Luke Is that a crotch strap I see tied up around your waist band rather than gently caressing your nuptuals??
