Sorry Matt. If I’m honest, a year ago I was against self management, but there have been a number of incidents over the past year that have completely changed my mind, which I won’t discuss on a public forum.
Also, as @oldgregg said, there’s a good chunk of additional funding that will be better spent on further improvements to the boat.
You don’t have to convince me. I keep pointing out we could have bought MS for the money we have spent on management fees since the start 😂
Once you have finished spending on the boat perhaps have a think about buying some shares up when they come up for sale. Buy a 4 week share back and then cross out Jan and first 2 weeks of Feb off the allocation chart 😃

Full day? You can say that again!! Make our gentle jaunt pale into insignificance! We went all the way from Gayes Staithe to Ranworth, topped up with water, bought the butter I forgot to get from Tesco yesterday from the shop at the staithe (with a well deserved ice cream each) and then made the epic voyage to St Benedict’s Church moorings, where we are still. Cobb on, chicken cooking, wine sliding down a little to easily and really enjoying the day!
Got to love the Cobb 😃

Then there were two 😳

They just don't depreciate as houses don't because they are normally updated to stay reliable enough and the cost of new build runs at the same speed as inflation.
Some 40 year old GRP hulls are as strong as the day they were built and stronger than a lot of hulls built now.
So an older boat cared for is worth 25% of the cost of a new one . This is just our opinion and obviously build quality is related to the manufacturer as it is today.
Kindest Regards
Marge and Parge
Indeed, the market will dictate the price.

They do that every year. The Pearl 38 was on the market when we bought ours 3 years ago. I guess their ethos is of they sell, then there’s a bit of cash to go back into a new build programme, but if they don’t, then they’ll hire them out again next year.
And still at £60k 😃

Barnes listed a handful boats for sale with NBS this week.

I swear by the Lenovo Yoga range as they have laptops which convert to pads and they have everything you need
I first was issued one with my work years ago and since retiring I bought one myself
They currently have a deal on the Lenovo Yoga Chromebook which has a £200 discount
My work one was a Yoga 260. Lasted well but we have started phasing them out now but we still have 1000’s of newer Yogas in use!
But now I have a Surface 4 and I’m keeping it 😃

As we going to be looking at replacing the flooring on Chiltern Lady soon, can you elaborate on what HPC have done on the hire boats please…
TIA
I couldn’t tell you what it is but it looks nice 😊
Plenty of photos and probably info in this thread:

So we ended up with carpet on Thunder about 3 years ago and I reckon if we voted again we would probably go hard flooring!
if you get chance have a look at the flooring on the hireboats that HPC have refurbed. They look really good.

Regulo I know you are still active on the forum and appreciate selling her was difficult but it appears she is up for sale again- assuming it is the same sunbird.

It’s a bright, sunny start to the day and today we are heading up the Ant.
plenty going on at Ludham Bridge
And Barton Broad was looking lovely
and we headed in over towards Gayes Staithe, with that looking fairly empty we pushed on to Neatishead…
and ending up reversing to the end but we were in for the night 😃
Even stuck up a bit of Jubilee bunting

Up at 7am agin with the dog, again down to Horning Staithe where odd sail boat continued to arrive
The weather did not look the best today so after a bacon sandwich we got in the car and drove out to Cromer where it was a tad breezy.
Had a nice lunch in the cafe above the RNLI museum. Made our way back to the boat via Wroxham where there was only one boat on the moorings beyond the bridge- guess not much is getting under the bridge.

You may already have one but when you move over to the otherside of the yard next to the hireboats I suggest you get a small padlock for your electric socket- the hireboaters don’t seem to be able to read labels 😃

Still a few boats finishing at 8am this morning when I went past.

Had an email earlier in the week to say the owner onboard the precious week was leaving early and so she was available earlier than our normal Saturday turnaround. Rude not to but we still had to wait for the kids to finish school which on a Friday includes basketball after school 🙄
Eventually set off at 18:15 and pull into HPC 2 1/2 hrs later. Could have been better.
Unpacked and kettle on by 21:30.
Too busy unpacking to get the best of the sunset 🥲

I drove home from Norfolk with my mum in the front seat. Later that night she tested positive and I never got it. I has just assumed I would.
