  1. I reckon both might be difficult to be fair! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  2. I have value to add here! We have taken Thunder through North to South one hour before LOW water. We were making 5mph on tickover through the yacht station so not a great deal of steerage no real problem for an experienced helm. Had a bit of an issue when a craft castoff from the Yacht Station ably assisted by Yacht Station staff about 30m in front of us. The nice past the yellow post we struggled to make 3mph at about 2000 revs until under the big bridge then about 4mph across Breydon- this was before the new engine so we were not pushing it. I would say that if the weather is forecast for a fine weekend there will probably be a lot of privateers out and about on southern rivers so mooring at London May be a problem! 4. We got a bit of time afloat today.... I did mention that to the Mrs that i was looking forward to a week on Thunder next month but apparently that sort of talk is banned until we get home....... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  5. I think generally in life people just don’t like taking responsibility for themselves. It’s far easier to ring and ask for help - think calls to the ambulance service, calls to the police (9 year old screaming as he won’t go to bed....) etc etc If there was a Breydon pilot service I suspect it would be often used! 6. I think I would add an immersion or diesel water heater for hot water without having to start the engine. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  7. Thanks- saves me digging it out the loft to check! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  8. We don’t touch the bank. The dog swims the last 3 yards.......... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  9. We generally mud-weight these days and take the dog over in the dinghy when needed. I would have thought these type of mooring charges do not help the local public houses. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  10. One of Crystal Lights provided my first ever Broads experience in 1990! We even got under Potter :-) Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
  11. I did not take it up but you can get very cheap car parking at Gatwick if you are prepared to let them hire your car out whilst you are away....... Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

As a family of 4 who visit the Broads twice a year spending £100 over the two visits on mooring fees is not becoming uncommon. Of course it is our choice to visit the places that charge upwards of £10 a night to moor but to offset that cost we eat onboard on occasions when we would otherwise have eaten out. Swings and roundabouts. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

  17. Worth pointing out that I don’t think a combi is any good if you have more than one shower or a pressurised system. That’s about the limit of my knowledge although I can change a 3 way motorised valve. 3 times in 7 years, each time just outside the 2 year warranty! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network

  20. Well..... we liked the Tucson so much When the 15 year old Corsa needed replacing we bought an i20 Active, 18 months old and with the 3 cyl turbo and you soon get used to the different vibrations and noise when stationery. Only had it a few weeks and all 300 miles have been town driving and when I filled up it was near enough 35mpg. M Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
