It would not be a lover cruise for Alan as he would turn RB into a convertable at Wroxham Bridge! Its a lovely cruise up to Coltishall, Alan. Unless the tides are loopy the end of April, I should get up there to sample the grub. -
I don't know but I would have thought that if you go right up the head if navigation it can't be that far to walk?Sadly not the Recruiting Sargent my old knees would complain its just a tad too far to walk. All those out this weekend have a nice relaxing break!Iain.

We spent the night down there when it was forecast to be very windy overnight. You do have to creep down the dyke and I would not like to meet anyone coming the other way! But very sheltered down the bottom. Lovely spot.

Personally I think you would need to be very lucky to fit under. We went under Potter Heigham bridge in a "Merrymore" which is identical to Moonlight and Evening Shadow, and Bills former boat Avalon, so at ccorrect tides, Potter is no problem. Regards to all ........................ Neil. -
I would not try turning up on Sun 22nd May though......
-
Our first ever time onboard Evening Shadow we pulled out of the basin and turned left and went straight under the bridge-we just wanted to get it out of the way! Been under several times at 7 foot and I reckon there must be a good 6 inch clearance all round. However from what I recall it rarely went under Potter.

I took the plunge (see what i did there?) and bought the kids self inflating ones last year. They are adjustable between 3yrs and 12 years so should last a while. They wear them no problem where as the foam ones were moaned about. You can never be 100% sure but they are the last resort-the braces to go with the belt. The best approach is to make sure that they don't fall in in the first place. So far so good but one day it will happen to one of us.

Alan this has to be one of the best posts I have ever seen on the forum LOL! You charmer you!I have brought Tan away for the weekend and we are currently in The Hotel Wroxham, dined and well watered. She will have all the joys of getting the boat ready for the season start. No time sadly for romance, just cleaning and removing all the clutter from last season and a few new jobs to do. Regards Alan -

I am sure I am too young for old stories but I hired from Hearts cruisers near to their demise. It was a disaster from day one. -Leave yard get to Brundall, go to use the toilet but no water to flush. Call yard. Same Man that did the handover comes turns on the valve situated under one of the beds. -Tea time day one-open cutlery drawer, it's empty. Eat out. Ring yard-same man appears the next morning (day 2) with cutlery tray. We joke "see you tomorrow" -Day 3-heading past Reedham towards Breydon. We have the tides spot on. Temp gauge is rising. Cover off of engine endless amounts of water is going into the top and obviously coming out somewhere else. Mudweight over the side. One of us has a mobile (early mobile days-it was like a brick). We make contact. Their towboat is already at Reedham rescuing somebody else-result! Towed back to Reedham for pipe on the coolant system to be repaired by the "normal man". -Day 4-no incident -Day 5-won't start. Normal man appears and fixes. -Day 6-no incident -Day 7-onboard hairdryer gives up in a puff of smoke.

I think Brooms hire all year round if that helps.
