addicted
Yesterday while cruising on the Yare having just passed beneath the Postwick viaduct we were just coming up to a bend in the river when a speedboat came towards us round the bend travelling at a speed I couldn't begin to estimate. If any other craft had been on that side of the river a terrible accident would have ocurred, as if they hadn't hit that they would almost certainly have hit us trying to steer round it , terrifying! On a better note we paid our first visit to the ferry Inn at Surlingham last night and had a lovely evening and delicious meal,we' ll definitely be going back, all those of you who speak so well of it were absolutely right. Wyndham
A couple of years ago we were heading north crossing Barton and a speedboat was having some fun there. He probably shouldn't have been but it was quiet, hardly any boats around so not harming anyone. We carried on up the Ant and was amazed when he came past us a minute later having not slowed down at all. It's pretty bendy up that stretch!! It's no excuse but I suppose when you've got the power it's hard not to get carried away.

Vaughan
Is there any more news on that one, Peter?
JennyMorgan
The boat was being used as an official 'ferry' for the regatta week thus the MCA was probably involved however all has gone very quiet. In fairness the family has suffered enough.
