Private Mooring

I have had all sorts of gloom and doom heaped on me and my hopes of getting a mooring in the central broads area. Is it completely hopeless or are there moorings available either to rent or buy for someone new to living in Norfolk.

What do you mean by Central? You may be experiencing a problem because moorings tend to run Jan to Dec or April to March. End of contract time is always best as folk move or give up boating. A personal visit to a marina always works best. I am at Broadsedge, it is very well kept and has quite a large turnover but it is not central, it is Stalham, up the Ant, that is a game stopper for some people. If but central you mean Horning then they are quickly snapped up.

Thanks Chris, Stalham is about 25 miles from Norwich I was hoping for about 10 at the most. When I am ready I will take your advice and visit marinas and sailing clubs etc. Good tip about getting timing right.

25 miles,  are you going via Acle. It's actually around 14 via Wroxham.

if you can get under Wroxham bridge plenty in the old Le Boat basin.

Try cove at Brundall,Very good place to be and close to Norwich.Ask for Dave the owner.

Brundall Gardens Marina is very pleasant and close to Norwich,  it even has its own train stop.

Agree with Ian, we are happy at Cove.

I think David has couple of spaces left depends on what size boat it is.

Brundall is also handy from Norwich by train, Cove is 5 minute stroll from the station.

I unstand there may be some spots in Horning village marina coming up, if your local, nip into the old Southgates boat yard next door to the New Inn and ask.
