SPEEDTRIPLE
Hi all, I`ve just watched a home made film on youtube from "the Vardy family in 1978". It`s a typical for the day cine film with no sound. It`s amazing to see some of the old hire boats, coasters up the Yare, and some of the riverside scenery and buildings etc from so long ago. I`l watch it all when i have time.

SPEEDTRIPLE
There used to be a hireboat called "Paula Dawn" which i think was from Kevincraft at Oulton Broad. That`s in the film. i`m sure i saw her years later moored in a private dyke looking very sad and well down in the water. With so many of the old boats being broken up or wrecked as houseboat conversions, it`s really good to see them in this film.
Broads01
I've seen that one and I agree it's fascinating. Broadland Memories has a few made by the same family from different years and they're all worth watching.
Griff500
At a guess I would say filmed over the weekend of Acle Regatta in May. The family were on board Saraline from P&H and I recognise a rather younger me on Maidie!
