Life Vests/jackets

Should it be mandatory  for life jackets/vests/whatever, be enforced on certain parts of the Broads. If you disagree, why?

There are some that might argue that we should have the right to drown if we should so wish.

I believe that people should have the freedom of choice to be wrong, society already wraps people in so much cotton wool that many people no longer recognise the risks they are being protected from, when i was young, if you did something wrong and hurt yourself, you learned to jolly well not do it. so on that basis i would say that wearing life jackets / buoyancy aids is strongly advised, but not made compulsory.

Advised and encouraged yes no problem, enforced absolutely not, the nanny state goes too far as it is trying to protect people from themselves.

I choose my own level of risk and take my own responsibility if I get it wrong without blaming someone else.

which is why the hire boat yards should recommend the wearing of lifejackets to their crews
