One For Those In Or Frequently Visiting France

I am after some information. I am looking for a French dictionary, one published in France, written in French for the use of French adults, in short the French equivalent of our concise Oxford English Dictionary.

What's it called? Who publishes it? and where can I get hold of one?

It's not for me, I can't speak French!

Casting my mind back I think 'Larousse.fr' is worth a look - they don't just do cookbooks.

The best dictionary I know of is Harraps. It has never failed me, in 30 odd years!

Is that a French dictionary for the French,  Vaughan or a French dictionary written for the English?
