Incident At Barton Turf Last Night

Does anyone know what was afoot last night. Vehicles, blue flashing lights, bright lights being shon into all the moored boats in Coxes boatyard and Paddys Lane , around midnight

Update… Also infra red drone and police boat looking for someone

Norfolk Police and coastguard teams from Winterton and Bacton were looking for a boat stolen from Barton Broad at 23.35 last night. After an extensive search nothing was found and the coastguard teams were stood down.

Not at all unusual for me to leave home at 9pm on a Friday evening, go pick a friend up and then head up to the boat for a weeks holiday. Travel is easy as the traffic is light, arrive at the boat get settled in with the basics and turn in. Next morning finish the unloading, have breakfast, fill the water tank and head straight of for a weeks holiday.

Thankfully every time I've done that my boat has been there!

Agreed but it sounds as though the boat went missing from Barton Broad or have I got that wrong?

Reading the report again, it’s debatable where exactly the boat was stolen from. The OP said bright lights were being shone into the boats moored at Cox’s and down Paddy’s Lane, not sure what that would achieve.

More details are slowly emerging. Quite a distinctive boat if anyone sees it.
