Very saddened by the news of LIonel's  death, although he l.ived to a good age. Had the pleasure of numerous evenings in  his company courtesy of mutual friends. A thoroughly genuine nice man. Great to have on your side at a quiz and his wife had an encylopaedic knowledge of music.

He seemed ageless, which apparently was true,he never gave he's age away.A true all rounder,often the butt of jokes.Always entertaining. RIP Lionel.Now dancing with the Angels.

Lets face it Ian people of our ages grew up on Lionel Blair on the TV.

Remember  when,people  said you know when your getting  old,when a Policeman  looks young.Very true, now everyone  looks young  to me!

I remember the days when I could play two 80 minute of rugby in one day. Then play 5 sets of Squash in the evening

Now the mind is willing, but the body just plain refuses.
