ChrisB
Aimed in particular at younger members With Summer approaching and clear sky forecast for the 3RR :- Wear a Tilley or any UV protective hat and use a high factor sun cream. I sailed every summer weekend for years plus all my holidays, if I put a hat on it was a baseball cap that are useless. Now in my early seventies this is the result. 2
Jbx5
Good advice Chris, you don’t think about it when you are younger. Working on building sites hasn’t done me any favours, sunscreen was just for holidays ! John

Smoggy
And don't forget when on the water the hat will not stop any UV that is coming from below ie. reflecting off the water, you tend to get twice as much UV when out on the rivers as you in normal circumstances.
Spray
I agree with Chris, I used to just wear a baseball cap and this resulted in losing the top of one ear to skin cancer and the bottom of the other one. Luckily all clear now and as advised at the time by the surgeon now wear a Tilley hat at all times when out in the sun.
floydraser
I vote here for a Tilley Airflo. Very comfortable even in hot sun. Best investment in clothing I ever made. I've now bought a winter Tilley with a flap that comes down over the ears!
