I would think it's probably the bar-tight stern warps Peter. Looking at your photo closely there must be well over one ton of strain on them.... "Right, that monstrosity is coming off" was my thought. then a friends partner fell in whilst walking round the side deck. It was a great aid to getting her back aboard. JennyMorgan Posted October 28, 2014 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Perhaps, on a small boat, a folding one would be a good compromise, indeed such a modification could be designed to aid stern-on moorings, with a little bit of thought. Nevertheless I have seen some right monstrosities screwed to the backs of small cruisers, bathing platforms and davits in particular.
