New Bicycle For 650XS at Wayford

Now if anyone has seen 650XS suddenly set off down the yard on his sturdy 'treader', 'treadiron' or pushbike...you will realise as the winter season gets under way his progress becomes more erratic as he skirts the puddles that join up to become Wayford Broad. I spotted this design for an amphibious bike designed in 1932 on Twitter and thought of Jon!

Of course the chap riding it needs to put a bit more effort into his beard!

Them's not puddles Frank...what you are seeing there is Wayford Broad and conclusive evidence that the Broads were man made by medieval tractors and cars lifting wooden BMC engines into boats.

Indeed the wooden BMC was favoured over the Perkin after Warbeck was executed in 1499 as a pretender to the throne. People are often astounded to find out that Barton Broad is the remains of the medieval carpark for Richardson's Galley Holidays. As seen from this woodcut taken from an early Richardson's brochure of 1220 all male bachelor crews have been a feature of Broadland for many years. ship-of-fools-woodcut2.jpg  The same goes at Potter Heigham where in 1066 Kenneth la Les, later becoming Anglicised to la'Thems, opened Ye Olde Bazzare which become so popular they had to create the overspill carpark now known as Hickling Broad.

Blimmy Timbo I knew Jon was getting on a bit but didn't realise he was that old! no wonder he's hiding behind the mast to the right of the picture,, it used to have a few Puddles back when Mike owned Wayford, but I think Jon has been reading about St Bennets and is building Carp Ponds, even his Geese wear wellies,,

Frank,,,
