JennyMorgan
I have read, and reread the survey results. I'm reasonably satisfied with them. Not sure that Dr John can be though.
SPEEDTRIPLE
I have read, and reread the survey results. I'm reasonably satisfied with them. Not sure that Dr John can be though. That does`nt mean he`ll act upon them or take any notice of them. As has been said above, the survey was totally unbalanced, probably to give the "desired result", but if it did`nt, never mind, we`ll go ahead with our own agenda. Make the BA electable by the people of the Broads. That way, if they start to ignore the wishes of their electorate, it would be relatively easy to have someone oppose any official at the next election. It`s amazing to see how people change when they`ve something to lose, especially a cushy number. As for the survey, when was it, as i never knew anything about it, ........ and i`m 56 too.
BroadScot
Make the BA electable by the people of the Broads. That would get my vote, any day of the week. But will it ever happen? Iain
Soundings
Ah, but define people of the Broads!
SPEEDTRIPLE
Ah, but define people of the Broads! Those that live, work, and run buisnesses etc. They are the people that will stand to lose the most because of beaurocratic incompetance.
Soundings
But those who run businesses in Norfolk require tourists so the latter also have an interest. I live in the Broads but do not consider myself in any way separate from the rest of the UK.
Polly
I expect to vote in local and county elections, any body with some control over area conditions should be accountable to the residents, and business community, I think.
Soundings
The magic words there, Polly, are "some control" as oppose to "total control". Interest in the Broads spreads much further afield than Norfolk - even some businesses are driven by shareholders and directors etc who's day to day relationship with the county is minimal at best. JennyMorgan
The problem is in who should be able to vote, plain & simple. I really do think that as the Chair of the Authority is subject to a vote from his committee then so should a CEO be.
