River Lea today ~ the Gazebos

Lovely photos - it has certainly turned into a beautiful sunny day.

We're not really that far from various parts of the River Lea but it's not somewhere I know. Should put this on my list for somewhere else to visit. Can you walk very far by the river?

All along it up to Hertford - it's basically a canal with towpath - just a lot of cyclists at times :(

There is also the New River Walk - the New River takes/took fresh water from Chadwell Springs to London (Islington) and was built in 1613. Have only walked sections but one day hope to walk the entire length in stages. There are also old bits of the New River!

Used to live just down the road from Hertford before moving to Warwick 3 years ago so I've had a few day trips on the Lee and Stort courtesy of a friends Seamaster 27.  Lee Valley boats used to hire narrow boats but stopped a couple of years ago, now just day boats.
