Next time an RNLI or Caister Lifeboat collection box is jangled in front of you then perhaps you will remember the picture heading this article:

It's what lifeboat crews do without question, even on the Broads. Would you do it?

Have done it in the past when younger and fitter JM  but yes its a very worthy charity one of the few I actively supported all my life. Hence the RNLI Pennant flown on Water Witch II

I too like Charlie have supported the RNLI most of my adult life. I have a strong connection through my mother to the Moelfre RNLI and here in Troon donate as and when I can to our RNLI Trent Class "Jim Moffat" 

These boats coast a lot to run and build. Be it 1p or a £1 etc, all donations are welcome!

Took out Governor membership many years ago and also contribute whenever I see a collection box, as both a professional seafarer and a leisure boater its always at the back of your mind you may need their services one day

It goes without saying that all us should and do support these brave crews who attend without question.

When ever you see a tin rattler for these emergency services please dig deep to boost their never ending costs.
