Horizon Craft was at Acle. I think they now call it Bridgecraft. It became part of Richardsons in the 70's.

Stalham Yacht Station became Stalham Yacht Services when Pat Simpson took over from his father, again in the 70's. He later leased it to Rivercraft and it is now part of Richardsons.

John Williams is an old friend of mine as well. Happy days!

Anyone remember the Bradbeers agency? The red Whale?

Ahh yes Bradbeers. Wasn't Norfolk Knights next to Wilds in Horning a Bradbeers?

Don't forget Eastwood Whelpton at Upton, still going strong.

Andy, I see that the price is £650k which sounds reasonable

to me for it's location but I know nothing about any planning issues.

Incidentally, I see a marina up for sale in Wroxham/Hoveton which I

believe to be the one backing onto Royalls and at the side of Barnes.

Didn't it used to be Jack Powells?

I took this first photo in July 1964 when we hired 'Fiesta' from there.

The second photo taken in September '05 as Moonfleet.

Notice the brick building in the background and the subtle change!

If you go back to 1971 there were 143 yards with over 2000 craft for hire. Blake's had most of the big boys and could be found at twenty centres, Hoseasons at twenty, Bradbeer at nine and Broads Holidays at seven. In addition were the two independent firms of R Moore & sons  and the Waveney Yacht Station.
