  2. Lovely. For me it is the one of the top of the reeds at the waters edge. Also the bluebells, lovely to see a swathe of them rather than just an odd few.

  8. Hi Trev A great place for fish is Haven Marina in Lake Lothing. Sea bream, bass and also prawns nesting on the marina walls. Very good marina too with good showers etc and, the restaurant is now taken over by the Red Herring lot says Lucky, so could be a nice weekend. If you want more details of where the fish are PM me!!
  9. I will let you off then Geoff with such a nice start to your tale . However, not sure you deserve it having stitched me up so royally on the quiz Mutiny is declared : : :
  10. And about time too!! Can we have more words with the next photos please
  11. Ian, I take it that is your polite way of saying I poked my nose in
  12. Big 'up' to Senator and Mariotech for putting the weekend together. We had a fantastic time, on the salty bit and the non-salty bit. Great company and really looking forward to doing it again.
  13. Watch for a thread on this in the next few days Robert Glad to see you found the site and good to meet you all.
  14. Hwmom also forget to say, we would like to eat on Sat evening too.
  15. Apologies Ian This happened rather quickly yesterday evening and developed even quicker... Would be good to see the menu for the RNSYC asap.
  16. Yes, we are going to come back into Lowestoft. Ian - the TV lounge, does it have a DVD player. It would be good if someone has a fairly recent film (don't think we do), to keep the little darlings occupied
  17. If anyone locally is interested, we picked up some fab Musto salopettes today, waterproofed and fleece lined on sale for £30 a pair reduced from £99.99 from Kirkland in Great Yarmouth. They are not part of their sailing range, they are gymstar plus, however, for occasional sea use will do the job The label says Gymstar Plus is a microfibre material of high density, which combines long-water repellency with excellent moisture permeability.
  18. Hi Ian I think 7pm should be fine, Red Herring is booked for 8.30pm. A nice hour or so to lubricate the larynx prior to dinner, usually goes down rather well
  19. Safety check details posted on main thread at same time by Senator, please check that!!
  20. As the other thread is now so long, I thought it may be useful to summarise a few things peeps may have overlooked or need a reminder on Safety checks - about 6ish I think on Friday evening probably in the Boulevard Red Herring - for those going 8.30pm and if you haven't already, please get your menu choices to Adam by tomorrow morning. Book Swap - if you have any you would like to swap, bring them along. We could perhaps do this at the same time as the safety checks??? Easter Egg Hunt - Easter Sunday morning - don't forget your eggs!! Also, if you are intending to re-enter the Broads from Great Yarmouth, you may need to book a bridge lift and this will have to be done by tomorrow, I think? Anything I may have missed, feel free to add. Hope this is OK with everyone . We leave for the boat tomorrow afternoon and are really look forward to seeing you all; old friends and making new ones too
  21. Adam is just sending you the menus Trev now.
  22. Hi Ian What time is the sea safety checks on the Friday evening please?
