    Fishing

Fish and wildlife need a little peace poppy they have had that for the last 5 months if indeed they need that little bit of peace. Agree with bayleaf if that is the case boating, walking etc would have to be banned aswell ive seen dog walkers let there dogs run wild in the reeds while out for a walk that is one thing I don't intend on doing if I was going fishing.

    Fishing

One solution to this scrap that pathetic rule all together with canals and lakes open all year no wonder people think its ok to fish the tidals at this time of the year. How can you have 1 rule for canals, lakes and another for the tidal rivers and they wonder why there is a lack of anglers wanting to fish rivers when you cant fish them in april, may and half of june when the weather is at its best. I know Dave Harrell is trying his best to get the rule overturned and us true river anglers should all stick together and support him.
  5. TrevorAndDeidre I travel through potter heigham every morning at 7am and in the summer the bins opposite the chip shop are always overflowing and binbags on the floor .The seagulls/rodents have destroyed whats left and the place looks like the local landfill site but I don't expect anyone from the council to be around that time of the morning to witness it so I think they will be receiving quite a few e-mails containing photos.
  6. The list printed was actually sent by the Broads Authority to a forum member so my point was if they don't know what facilities are where what hope do we all have.
  7. One of the biggest waste bin sites on the broads at Ludham Bridge is not even on the list so I would take that list with a pinch of salt and if hirers/private boaters have got to put their rubbish in litter bins they better expect to empty them at least twice a day.
  8. What an absolute joke of an article this really is, this should be announced back in may/june warning people of the consequences that could happen when fishing without a license. It doesn't tell people how and where this can be obtained how much and when the license runs to and from its a typical story coming from pen pushers who need to get in the real world
  9. It is legal to troll with oars but illegal under the power of and outboard wether it be petrol, electric etc. No ifs or buts
  10. Bonzo you have got it spot on to many pen pushers sitting behind desks that's the problem they need to get in the real world and see whats going on out there, and as to be able to fish lakes, canals but not rivers is baffling me , I would like someone to explain the difference to me to justify the reasons. Anyway 5 weeks tomorrow and the proper fishing season begins
  11. john b , you saw them at Ludham Bridge yesterday thanks for letting us know were they moored up.
  12. yes they are talking about hickling and Somerton and most of the video footage is at Ludham Bridge
  13. Are these the same fisheries people who put a ban on river fishing for 3 months yet allow fishing on canals and lakes to go ahead explain that one in great differences
  14. Moving fish from hickling and Somerton to potter heigham is not what I call a great distance apart why couldn't these fish of been put in somewhere like horning or wroxham well out of the way and into deeper flowing water absolute joke
  15. They know the fishing season is closed they will be back in june :naughty:
  16. Hey Fishfinder I am not doubting any of your version of events and what have I said to prove that apart from no units from ludham bridge were broken into.
  17. I can confirm that NO shops or units were broken into at Ludham Bridge so I don't know where that rumour has come from
  18. Speaking of parking spaces Robin I would like to know where people will park to use the new tea room and other shops as I think the broadshaven or lathems will not be letting them to use theirs
  19. Changing the subject a bit but do any of these offences apply to the rivers/broads because when im out fishing I see kids as young as 6/7 at the helm on there own along with people eating , drinking , using phones etc.
  20. speedtriple you sound like the sort of angler who fishes once a year and cant justify £27 for a licence because for a little over 50p a week that's a cheap sport in my eyes, and for fishing being an expensive sport the tackle is at its cheapest its ever been. Many years ago an average carbon rod would of set you back well in excess of £100 now £30 will buy you a good one yes you can go out and buy rods, poles in there 1000s of pounds but that is up to the individual. Where we live here in Norfolk day tickets for lakes will range from £5-£8 for a day , or fish the rivers/broads for free so for you to say you think you are being ripped off and so are the public is very untrue. James
  21. The date of the issue was Tuesday 28th October the week I first posted this topic. Yes bonzo you are spot on that the broads was regularly in the angling times years back but because we have no carp and people cant catch 200lb of fish in 5hrs here it seems quantity wins over quality im afraid. James (AJB)
  22. Ah good another AJB to sign and pay the bills lol James (AJB Angling Ludham Bridge)
  23. Nice to see a double page spread in the Angling Times this week on the top 20 spots to fish on the broads, a little late in the season but at least we are getting a little recognition at last and to see a list of tackle shops in the area of those hotspots. James (AJB Angling Ludham Bridge)
