  1. Errr Dave, THAT will depend how OLD you wish to feel! Seriously, I like the idea, but, with Broadland Memories, I spend many an hour browsing that amazing site of Carol's. Iain.
  2. Hi Marina, Flying is very expensive from Edinburgh, eye watering even. The train believe it or not, because I live on the west cost is not much quicker than driving down! More stops is the answer, but, we shall see. I am stubborn, to a fault. I do not like being beaten, and I wont be. Thank you so so much for your concerns, all. Its very kind, and much appreciated. Iain.
  3. Its PLANE to see Alan your a collector. Well, someone was bound to say it! Iain.
  4. Wow! I didn't realise you were THAT old Geoff! He was trying to catch a butterfly ...honest! Mr Maradonna. Iain.
  5. Alan, As you know, I was at the kidding, I gave my old Stanley wheel brace away, for nowt. Well it did me many favours, and all for the price of 10/- originally. I still have my original CK Snips, ok so 40% of the original insulation is now missing, but still cut cable cleanly. They cost me 16/9d a lot of money in 1964! Iain.
  6. If anyone knows the whereabouts of a certain Craig Joubert, could you kindly contact me, or 5 million other Scots!!! Thank you. Iain.
  7. Errr Alan, there aint no WINGS on em planes!
  8. You should come to the Monday Night Quizes Jim! Iain
  9. Aye very true John, I would love to meet this man Dr JP.... I would politely, well to begin with, tell him where he should go! Then give him a few choosen scottish expleatives! Iain.

  11. Thank you Arthur, At least the two players banned have had that turned over. We can but hope tomorrow! Iain.
  12. Hi Howard, It was very very light, so my money is on hydraulic. We have also has hired Silver Harmony and had no issues with the steering watsoever. Jean, I am on the mend, sort of, now in decline again, Wales have just lost ( Mum was Welsh!) Iain
  13. No Alan, that is C Ricko, have you not seen his Avatar recently! Iain
  14. Seen Jet ones in the past, in Whitby, Alan. The old town street over the river bridge.
  15. Simple Alan, You had the brains all the time, also, as you grew older, what was required was a kick up the derry air to pass at UNI!
  16. Hi Alan, I am right handed also, but like you maybe a sparky/tradesman thing never found it awkward using my left to carry out work with say a screwdriver or electric gun. Screwing conduit also made the left side of the body work hard. I too went to techy college, but day release from my employer, ( a failing today I believe, and a reason for an apprenticeship shortage) block release must be very expensive for small firms to allow that I think. The college did encourage us to work with both hands. Ray, so true! I sat 8 prelims, thought I had failed the lot so took the chance of an electrical apprenticeship. Went back to the school to hand in my books, to discover I had passed all eight...oops! Do I ever wonder where or what else I may have done, you bet I does. Would it have changed my attitude to life, hmm I doubt that very much. Iain.
  17. Hi Alan, Oh I passed and was suppose to go to Ayr Academy, which meant no footie, just cricket and Rugby! I stayed at my Junior / Secondary High School, although I was at a Grammar School throughout most of my Primary teaching. When the new housing estate was built so was the brand new High School, which I was sent to, to complete my primary years and 11plus. Today it is an Academy. Confused? lol I do appreciate, the education system is totally different up here. I hope always remains that way. Iain.
  18. Hi Samuel, I wouldn't over worry about not sitting the 11 plus, I DID! See where it got me, a Moderator on the NBN! BTW I think Lurcher could be right. Iain
  19. Hi Simon, I have till now refrained mentioning the boat, but, as you have kindly asked, I agree with you regarding the chairs, they are moderately comfortable, but not over modern in design. My biggest problem these days, yes anno i'm on about good old fashioned Dunlopillo again, but always found that material comfortable both sitting and sleeping. Getting to that generous sized bed was for me and my dear wife a bit of a challenge, more than I was expecting, with a storage area one side and wardrobe the other a bit of leg work is involved shall we say.The bed I found over firm, but that may just be me. However, the biggest and most uncomfortable item is/was the helmsman seat, I had to stoop sitting on it, its for me too upright in design. That is not to say it wont suit other skippers. The boat has pluses, but one other slight niggle was the steering, I have had many many front steer craft, this one challenged my abilities keeping it straight! Maybe because I was in back pain and not concentrating properly, who knows. I was going to do a wee write up on the boat, you have just pushed me into it a wee bit quicker lol. Iain.
  20. We moored towards the Bishopsgate end within the security confines gate which does add a little more security than in the past. Never had a problem there, as said, you are in a city, with the wonderful views of the cathedral to look at from different angles along the quayside. Just go and enjoy Norwich, its as they say, a Fine City! With much to explore. Not just the pubs! Iain.
  21. Now who is in dreamland? BTW for what its worth I agree with you! Especially for the boatyards! What's left of them. Iain
  22. Hi Ron, Yes good point regarding the temperature. I do though think the very long drive on the Friday did me know favours. The only time I ever see heavy traffic of note up here, is in the Central Belt or driving on the M8 through Glasgow. Iain
