  1. Hi Stuart, SWMBO has informed me, that she is STILL recovering from the experience of the Oulton Broad shower fascilities. They are badly in need of modernisation. Iain.
  2. As much as I like talking about it John, I much preferred in years gone by, being at the Tests. The atmosphere is amazing. Its a crying shame one of the tests is not at Old Trafford. But the track there is a quick one, that would suit the Aussies better.. Iain
  3. Hmmm interesting reading, and not the information I have always been lead to believe. I understood it was the chippy next to the Heilandman's Umbrella on Argyle Street, Glasgow. The "Umbrella" being the Central Station Railway Bridge. I have worked in Belfast and don't remember seeing them being sold in either the Europa Hotel or the Crown Bar across the road All I ever saw there, was work by day and bar by night! no D/F Mars Bars though Iain. p.s. It would appear I am wrong https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep-fried_Mars_bar
  4. Hi Paul, We had a pro named John Sheppard, ex Middlesex. in the early 60's. This lad was never given a chance at Lord's because he didn't go to the RIGHT School if you get my drift. Old school tie, what! There are a few good young lads, but WILL they ever be given a chance? Hmmm jury is out on that one i'm afraid. Iain
  5. I think John that Edgebaston should be a REAL haha batsmans paradise, but, with what Warne calls "Thunderbolts" being delivered by Johnson I have my doubts. The Aussies have their tails up, but would be delighted to see them brought back down to earth with a bump! Iain.
  6. Hi MM, is this of any use to you? http://www.marinescene.co.uk/product/13071/led-spot-light-12-volt-(black)-a915 Iain
  7. Aggers has always been a bit of a dreamer Keith, I bet Boycott's remarks were choice! I look forward to The Verdict tonight. Bob Willis should be good. Iain.
  8. Hi Paul, Only problem with Bairstow, is, he is a bit shall we say not in the right position for short pitched bowling. I have looked at the First Class averages and the only name that came to mind IF he can play at Test level is Daryl Mitchell of Worcester to open. Agree about Bell. What about Brown at Lancashire? Iain
  9. Keith said..... Yes Keith, but nobody told England it was! Iain
  10. Or...shouldn't the Foreign Office send the convicts back to Oz? Just call the Test Series then a draw! Seriously, I would like to be a fly on the wall of the ECB next committee meeting! Iain.
  11. Well, well, its not looking awfy guid as I look between the Davis Cup, The Open Golf, and a shambles of test batting from England what a difference a week makes! Now I wonder what type of track Edgebaston will be, baring in mind its Ian Bell's home ground? Changes are required, but how many? I know the Test is not over yet, but do miracles happen? Iain
  12. Exactly John, we are the epitome of fine behaviour! Aint we fellas! Iain.
  13. Hi Monica, Just giving their fast bowlers a wee rest before the kill ! Iain
  14. Bang went that theory Paul, although agree what you said. The ball is getting lower and lower for drag ons. OK, plan B, who is good at doing rain dances? Iain
  15. No offence taken matey. I shall try and remember to bring doon some of Scotland's finest meat fayre for you! Iain.
  16. Oye Ray! Your risking the wrath of several of my fellow countrymen on here! its a KILT!!!! Oh I forgot, you dress up in ladies garb and wear frocks! Iain
  17. EXACTLY!! Come forth Neil and smartly!!!! Iain
  18. A captains innings of record book proportions is called for I think. Facts are, the Aussies always play well at Lord's. A certain Bob Massie took 16 wickets there on debut in 1972 . Thought that would cheer you up Monica IF they don't lose a wicket in the morning session, anything is possible. Well one can dream, can't one Iain
  19. From memory the only concern up at the lock is weed. I removed a fair bit from the filter when we were moored at the Common later. Iain.
  20. What competition JM? The lady in question is NOT speeding! Errr I think Anyway, I am sure you could play Knight Errant there, or should that be Day Errant? Iain.
  21. Oh JM, does that mean SWMBO canny go shopping at Lathams? Iain
