  8. The one Rum I enjoyed was Orange Grove, VERY moreish!taken with cocacola. First sampled down a dockland pub in Glasgow. Was given the Mountgay Rum once, I am sure thats what propelled the MoonRocket! Iain
  9. Perish the thought of that bog standard menu of Harvesters taking over the Acle Bridge Inn! Iain.
  10. It is never good to see any pub/hotel in administration, but four of the same group sets off alarm bells to me. As has been said The Bridge at Acle always busy, and many a good word has been said about it. When we were down last May I spoke to a fellow holidayer who had been to the Wayford pub and he said even for the Broads, the drinks prices were eye watering, had their one drink and left. He also said the decor did not go with the rest of the building. Thats your modern theme pub designers to blame for that I would hazzard a guess, but without seeing it for myself its not fair to pass judgement. Let us hope ALL the jobs are saved, but admins are not noted for spending money on things like pubs. I would hope the Acle Bridge and the Wayford Inn are saved though. With the Lord Nelson and the Berney Inn also closed, its not good reading IMHO. Iain.
  11. That would get my vote, any day of the week. But will it ever happen? Iain

  14. Ian? Geezaclue please, who in the name is Nassie? As for mid winter, with the Burns Supper season in full swing from this weekend, the beasties are ducking and diving to avoid being given the Selkirk Grace Selkirk Grace. Some hae meat and canna eat, And some wad eat that want it, But we hae meat and we can eat, Sae let the Lord be thankit. Iain.

  19. Hi Frank, Bosch commutators are known to be soft, so can burn out quite quickly. They are a good mid range unit IMHO. Now Makita is a diff kettle of fish! Iain.
  20. Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I have re-read all the posts, and I can see the different theories and suggestions. As Alan put the link on in the first place, and it is someone trying to sell a small business, I think for now, we will let the thread run. Just remember its the Brundall Ice Cream Boat, not the Wroxham/Salhouse one. Iain.
  21. Oh dear oh dear Bonzo, this IS serious!!! Well, I/we will just have to bring some breeding pairs with us in May. Just hope I don't waken them up en route! Iain.
