  1. Very warm welcome to you, hope you enjoy this Forum as much as I have, a really nice bunch of people on here Grace
  2. Hi Donnygeoff Had No problems with Star Gem at all, as BroadScot pointed out there can be a bit of an issue with the bed but in general the Boat is well fitted out and very roomy. We had two weeks aboard Star Gem 2 a few years ago and we had a wonderful time, hope you enjoy her as much and a very happy 25th Anniversary to you both. Grace
  3. Yes I have, lovely Boats do they still only have the two for hire? Grace
  4. Thankyou Norfolknog, anything that floats on the Broads does it for me, I just find Richardsons to be such good value and you have the choice of budget, middle of the road and luxury Boats. We have hired from Herbert Woods and Fen Craft in Brundall now sadly gone but keep coming back to Richardsons. I don't mind a bit of luxury but do find the older Boats have more character and just enjoy them more. Having said that if Husband was to hire the Broadsman or Carousel who am I to moan Lol Grace
  5. That's why I always try to get to the Mooring for the Pilot as early in the day as possible, fewer people about to witness any mistakes, now we've got the damned web cams Lol. Another plus for wild moorings is very few people about to witness any mooring disasters, Grace
  6. Thanks again everyone, if I have my way its going to be Symphony, other half fancies one of the silverline centre cockpits, gonna have to work hard to get my own way Grace
  7. Have to say wild mooring is just the best in my opinion, moor at a pub for lunch and a couple of drinks and then find yourself a wild mooring get the fishing rods out open a bottle of wine and watch the Boats go by. At night you feel like you're the only people in the whole world, sheer bliss. Grace
  8. Symphony looks lovely, don't know which Boat to choose now thanks a lot guys haha. Have you hired a Broadland Wave before Simon? A lovely Boat, great for fishing and sitting outside in the evening with a drink or two. Hope you enjoy her as much as we did. Grace
  9. Yes have looked at Silverline and very nice Boats indeed, just got a huge soft spot for Richardsons, first ever hire boat we had was from them and yes the loyalty Card does help Lol. We are having the usual family holiday in August but hoping for October for just the two of us. Thanks for the replies guys Grace
  10. Looking to hire a 2 berth Boat for a break with my husband (no kids yay) Richardsons being the preferred yard. Have hired Star Gem and Broadland Wave in the past both fantastic Boats but we always hire a different Boat for each holiday. Been looking at Broadland Lass and Salerno, any other ideas would be great. Requirements are nothing posh just plenty of room and comfy. Grace
  11. Happy New Year to you all, lets hope it's healthy and prosperous for everyone. Hopefully a long hot summer for great boating adventures, if all goes to plan in 2014 we're hoping to have a couple of holidays and some long weekends on the Broads, so excited and can't wait. All the Best and to everyone Grace
  12. Hi Jill R, Brilliant picture Grace
  13. Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year Top of my Christmas list is a 38ft Centre Cockpit Cruiser, i think I am going to be very disappointed this year Grace
  14. I really enjoy Johns posts too, always look forward to the next instalment. Wonder if his flu has cleared up yet, it is man flu so I doubt it Grace
  15. Gracie

    Just for Fun

Martin that must have been heart wrenching, every parents nightmare, glad you got her out safely. Brandenjg, either give up smoking or stop wearing hats Lol. Thanks for the replies guys. Grace
  16. Hope your man flu is better Grace
  17. With such a horrible damp grey day here in Sussex and home from work early I got to thinking [yes it did hurt] what are the most memorable trips on the Broads have you had?, be it happy, sad, funny or terrible. Every holiday we have had on the Broads have been memorable so really can't point anything out in particular but some of you guys must have a tale to tell. Looking forward to this Grace
  18. Hi Andyg I'm with Broads01 on this one every month of the year sounds good to me but got to say Spring and Autumn are pretty special. Hi Jonzo Not a huge fan either, bit like marmite Lol, they float and they are on the Broads, heaven. Grace
  19. Hi Alan I know what you mean, we went in late October many years ago and it was probably one of the best times we have had. I remember sitting outside with a glass of wine until quite late in the evening and all you could here was the wildlife and the water, just beautiful. Grace
  20. I believe San Domingo is similar? Considering hiring one of these myself for October, it will be our first trip for many years out of season so the other way round to you Grace
  21. Hi Muzbaz Thankyou so much for the welcome, it really is a great community and feel I have made online friends already, although a bit concerned I haven't heard from JTF in a while I fear he's showing his maggot to someone else lol Grace
  22. Hi Simon Yes it was Major Gem 2, the refurb on her is excellent and the floor indeed is lovely. She is amazing value and can't recommend her enough, although if you're not careful you can bump your head on the sliding canopy when open, Had a bit of concussion by the end of the week lol Grace
  23. We hired Major Gem last year I believe she is similar to Mercury and wow what a Boat, for the price we paid she was excellent value, I would hire her again like a shot. Also I think the budget Boats have lots of character, so if you're not worried about having all the mod cons they are ideal. Hope this helps. Grace
  24. Any Boat from Richardsons but one in particular stands out and that's Broadland Mars, good value, easy to handle, roomy and love the out door cruising a centre cockpit has to offer. Pretty much like donnygeoff really, as long as she floats and she's on the Broads what more could you ask for. Grace
  25. Hi raga and Paul, thank you for the welcome and yes what a friendly and helpful bunch on this forum. I have had some great banter on here already, certainly puts a smile on your face. Welcome to you both too. Grace
